About TTK and arsenals (and other things)...

Dude I felt everything u said to the core. I am unistalling this game from my PC and console until they revert the game to Season 23 TTK. This is absolutely ridiculous. I made a post very similar to his a few hours ago. All my friends are saying the same thing we are. Let's be loud by not supporting the game and complaining online until EA/Respawn caves. If they wanted fast TTK mayne they should just develop Titanfall 3 like most of us OG players want anyways.

You're right. I'm sick of learning to play the game every season. Look what they've done to the support legends. No double small med heal, no faster movement with heals, literally everything they introduced as a big new feature in the last season. They have to get a good balance and LEAVE IT LIKE THAT, not change everything again 3 months later. I don't want to main a new character every season.

I was still adjusting to faster TTK after I switched to playing on PC 2-3 weeks before the last season ended, from Switch. Much more accurate shooting from further away on PC. And most people are faster at moving and looting. And now this. Over the past year (haven't played Apex longer than that) I learned how to play fps on a controller after not doing so since the first Halo, and became good enough at Apex that it was fun. That end of last season was still fun even though there was a new learning curve, but now this is too much.

About arsenals, I think they could be ok, but they're just way too common and easily accessible at the moment. If they were more on par with replicators, only one type per area, that would probably be more ok. Or a late-game thing like the yellow/mythic supply bins were/are, or care packages. That could allow for more "safe" switching of weapons between the early and late game (currently we have care packages for this, or the relics in last season). I agree that it's too easy just to pick and choose your weapon now, working with what you found was and is part of the excitement of the genre.

Edit/P.S. I checked and my average damage per match/KDR is now about  half of what it was in season 23 and 22, which were quite similar (I started playing the game partway through season 20 and was still learning in season 21). Part of this is that I haven't yet "gotten gud" at playing on PC, but I wasn't doing this badly at the last couple weeks of season 23, when I first switched to PC. My average damage was even rising due to hitting more on PC, it was mainly kills that were suffering (I was mostly doing assists with that damage). The changes that caused faster TTK are the main reason.

Just started reading the patch notes (at Apex Legends™: Takeover Patch Notes | EA Forums - 11885383)

This part really stood out:

This new meta is cooking and it’s safe to say that this anniversary season flips the season of Support to one of aggression. Coupled with some strong updates for Armor and Helmets, greater access to weapons with the new Arsenals, and reduced visual clutter and time-to-kill has never been faster. 

This signals that the fastest-ever TTK  is definitely an intentional change. But IMO it should be much better communicated whether this is all going to be a permanent change or whether some or all of it is going to be toned down in 12 weeks, for the next season (are Skirmishers getting a boost next? Recon and Controller have both had boosts recently, with threat vision for all Recons and extra shields while in the Ring for Controllers). Support only received a minor nerf at the start of this season, with the double-strength shield cells/syringes bonus and faster movement while healing being removed.

I have friends who have been playing the game for years longer than I have, but who play relatively little now. Their mood was already soured due to one of them being shut out from the game due to Linux ban, meaning I play even more with randoms already, reducing engagement and commitment to the game. This already soured me some on paying in more real money, but now the remaining ones of those friends are even less motivated to play because the fast TTKs make it even harder for casuals.

The change that will fix the ttk issues is just add helmets back. I have played this game since launch and will not be back untill ttk is fixed.

I can agree with pretty much everything you said. Not a fun season. Possibly even worse than last, though a little early to say for sure.

On the subject of the arsenals, I agree that they are another serious step toward dumbing down the game. But I also have to admit that I'm very happy that I will never have to quit another match just because I can't find a tripletake. Because now I can. Every single match. Would I give up my guaranteed tripletake in order to get rid of bin resets. Absolutely yes, I would. Late game bin resets are the worst dumb down this game has seen yet, and that's saying something. But I'd still be quitting any match where I couldn't get the gun I want. It's just incomprehensible to me that I can find a nemesis seven or eight times a match but often no tripletake. I would have said that it's proof the loot pool is too lean, and it is too lean, but that's not the problem. The problem is that every weapon has a spawn rate, decided by the dev, and some guns will just be harder to find. At least until now. The real question is, are arsenals a feature of this season only, or are they a feature of the game going forward? I'd hoped the bin resets would end with last season. I guess we know how that turned out.

I am kinda running myself ragged on this one, but I feel EA and Respawn need to see more than people complaining. Please go to X (Twitter) and youtube, almost every post I have read of people complaining have had people in the comments telling them to stop whining and that the changes are great. I HAVE TO AGREE WITH THEM, please stop catering to the minority of your player base :) 

Bruh, those guys are so naive, check Reddit, it was alright for everyone before but now, some people like and some HATE it, before everyone was fine with it 

They should just bring back the red shield and yellow shields and helmets and nerf the weapons to make them do the same damage as the other seasons to lower ttk, and than also make all weapons somewhat equal or balanced 

I agree 100% I had a very big problem at the beginning to adjust the long ttk .... but when you catch the motive of breaking the cover attack the game became super fun. And now? Now you die ttk get You can't even react with a magazine from a distance. Now this double healing of shields is needed or good old ttk because even if you survive you don't have time because first of all your shield is broken and the opponent sees you or ash uses ult  teleporting twice 200 meters absurd if they don't change it in the next apex update Well, I'm saying goodbye
