In regards to Axle's from "MARKED" update notes
I don't think the nerfs will be impactful enough.
"To force players to be more selective when choosing to use Axle's Ult, it will now affect self and allies (similar to Mad Maggie, Bangalore, and Gibraltar ultimates). Axle (self) gets damaged, stunned, and displaced (same as enemies). Allies get stunned and displaced, but won't take damage."
In my opinion, Axle is the worst legend this game has released, because she promotes a playstyle that feels genuinely unhealthy and out of character for Apex. Ever since Season 22, I've felt like the game has been steering toward a lower skill gap — maybe to appeal more to casuals and newer players — but things have gotten too extreme.
I've been playing Apex for about five years. One of the things I love most about this game is that it punishes bad decision-making. I had plenty of growing pains early on, but I kept playing because I knew that when I died, it was usually my own fault — and because the game was fair, improving felt worth it. Better players get rewarded, and that's what made putting in the time worthwhile. I've been able to solo queue to Masters with no mic so I have to pay extreme attention to detail and ping a lot. It takes about two weeks and not a good experience, but this season I came back for Split 2, and ranked has been one of the worst experiences I've had in a long time. A big part of that is Axle
Normally, players who "ego-challenge" get punished for it — but Axle seems exempt. It doesn't matter if she's caught out in the open because her tactical is so unbalanced it doesn't just bails her out she gets advantages. Her hitbox shrinks while sliding, she can still shoot accurately, and she becomes an incredibly difficult target to hit. She can make terrible decisions over and over and not get punished for them, simply because of her tactical.
Her ult is awful in general. Sometimes it isn't smart enough to know where to go being a waste. Other times it's far too frustrating to play against. It acts like a pet so a lot of times it feels like I'm fighting a team of 4-5 players. In the "MARKED" update notes you guys are bring her ult to only 1 charge but no hints on improvements on how it functions. To make her ult impact self & allies isn't impactful enough as a nerf. A lot of the time players will just pop their ult and use their tactical to "ego-challenge". They can easily get free kills this way without being near their ult. This is beyond frustrating to play against there's not much counter. If you get hit by her ult you're usually a free kills so you have to shoot her ult, if you're trying to shoot her ult Axle will just use her tactical and shoot you for free. It also feels impossible to disengage in fights because of Axle since she can easily chase anyone that is trying to get away.
Also Axle is a big reason why shotguns feels terrible even after the buffs. Why run shotguns when a legend like Axle can be near you 1 second and in few seconds she's in another POI?
Consider making Axle's ult BIGGER. So it's more easy to shoot.
Maybe keep double ult if her ult doesn't function well. Consider sending her ult vertical and then goes to the target it picks up if this will help it function better. Also if her ult goes vertical first that will also make it more easy to shoot since it'll be likely more visible to shoot.
