Increased Contrast creates darker/hard shadows and brighter areas

I don't know how are people seeing anything anymore but I don't. I can't see a guy in 20-30 meters away when they merge with the surroundings. If a legend is sitting in a shadow he is invisible (specially if uses dark skin).

Yes, game looks pretty but it's terrible to see and track targets in dark areas. I don't know if there is another "competitive" game which has such visual cluster f*cks.

  • @mogop It’s more realistic for caves and indoors to be darker... however, it might be graphical or update issue, have you consider running files verification/repair?

@Alphabets I don't think it's graphical or something is broken. This is intentional from Respawn.
They can put some lights in Indoors and Caves.
Outside shadows are harder/darker than before. It's the contrast or gamma increased or the Lighting source of the map.
  • @mogopI found what's wrong.
    C:\Users\%USER%\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\localVideoconfig.txt
Apex changed "setting.gamma" to "0.850000" If I lower that to 0.500 or 0.4 it's some how fine. Make the file Read-Only after that because Apex is changing the game to Default 0.85 every time.

I retract that. That is NOT a solution! All it does is Increase the Brightness in-Game!

  • It's just impossible to play now, my eyes is broken after Vibrance in game start be 100000
