I've been stuck several times in the middle of looting by having the loot menu over my screen with no quick way to close it.
For some reason TAB key doesn't always work when looking in loot crates, and escape can get you stuck on the actual escape menu just as much as closing the loot menu...
Tapping E after holding E should be set to instantly close the menu.
I prefer left clicking outside the box's menu to close it. Please devs add it.

I press Esc as a window overlay pops up with options to either leave the game or settings. As I press Esc again it exit that overlay back into the game and I saw that I am still in the deadbox. Why no real game function besides Esc key?
My inventory key is Z so i can close it quickly, it also closes loot boxes. I had to break the habit of using the esc key because it just ends up screwing you over by opening the main menu.
