Issues with Crypto's new 'buff'.
I am a Crypto main and I Like to play this class due to my ability to support my teammate through my call outs and game-play.
Mostly trying to remain quite about it and hoping someone else would mention it, really won't do anything.
Now Crypto is not a very special Legend to begin with, the main things about him is his Drone (Hack), EMP and Accessibility to next ring info. With the Most recent 'buff' Crypto has received, when his Heirloom was introduced, has cause a lot more issues for me and a lot of other players that I have met that have played Crypto.
I will first issue My feedback about the "buff". When Crypto deployed Hack, I can see and idealize how it can be useful when Crypto is joining fights head on, but when you deploy it there are 3 major issues I face when playing;
1. Hack travels 20-30M before stopping, but only facing the Direction it was sent. Basically, only scanning in a direction that could just be the sky rather then the ground where the hostiles are.
Throwing it straight forward may have a better chance for a scan, but leave it in their face or between the fighting, easier to see and destroy.
As well if it passes the hostile, it only scans past them, leaving it completely useless to do nothing or be destroyed.
Another issue about this is, it's very broken, attempt to use Hack but say it; tags something at a distance/something close by/ another player. it is displaced to the center of the map where it's too far and have to await for it to return to try again. leaving you useless during animation and a easy target. (as well as notifying your position and status due to new sound Que).
2. When wanting to manual control Hack, it's a larger issue then what it was Pre-Buff. as going into the drone requires you to have it not destroyed and transfer POV to control it and this takes an annoying amount of time, especially with animation. When in the situation of needing to help your teammates or ideally survey your surroundings, you throw the drone a very short distance which stops mid air (and in the open due to 1st issue about Drone displacement.) as you are transferring POV. Taking way too long to be able to control your tactical when you most need to, it leaves you completely Vulnerable and an easy to destroy drone off the bat when someone is watching for you.
Pre-Buff was more manageable due to better control over the drone from less time to animate and transfer.
3. It's already hard to leave Hack in a location and Hope that won't be destroyed instantly when you transfer POV.
With the sound Que added, Hostiles will instantly be notified more precisely it's location and notify that the drone is unattended, making it a more interested target due to immobility.
as well as, when you also first Deploy Hack the sound Que notifies the players character and their status as they use it, making you a more wanted/hunted target when your POV is transferred. and when downed/knocked, It's more beneficiary for Crypto's teammate to risk Hack Being destroyed and remain in it's location then be instant re-call, when it despawns when Crypto is finished anyways.
In total, The "buff" for Crypto is more entirely of a Joke/Troll to Crypto players that just ruins the experience when playing.
If My opinion can be considered at all, it absolutely F*cking sucks and needs to Reset to the previous Kit Edit.
Already enough, being the most known Legend who has no True Passive or major combat/momentum assisting ability, Crypto has the worst pick rate compared to All other legends due to the lack of Intuitiveness and issues of his Kit.
If anything Crypto Requires more skill and more patience to even be able to play and more to even enjoy the legend in general.
Please To Electronic Arts and Re-spawn Entertainment, Take consider what makes a character more playable before attempting to balance and Debuff a character.
