I seemed to enjoy third person mode more when I was solo so i guess solos? Lol but overall I loved seeing my skins i didnt even know the lifeline bundle had a shield on her back, i practiced hit firing alot more its something i usually never do but its actually quite nice, when i went back to first person mode though the game didnt feel the same it just seems boring and back to the old ways it also felt strange I would love for third person it to be a permanent option available in settings i just loved seeing the characters, grappling was alittle weird as pathfinder but other than that it all seemed great with a few laughs here and there for funny animations I just had a blast on third person
Well, I'm glad you all had fun playing the 3rd person limited-time mode, but I have some things to say about this topic, "Keep third person mode permanently."
First of all, Apex Legends is and started out as a first-person shooter, Idk why people are all the sudden like, "Yes please give me more 3rd person."
For me, having third-person in the game even with it as an option would kill it. Why is it being said it shall have this feature if there are other Battle Royales that not only have third person but also update more often? Literally the reason I don't play those games is that they're third person, I despise it.
During the LTM 3rd Person, I noticed many issues, one being that vision is lacking. The player models are either too big or the running, jumping, shooting animations for the models block the view. Two, I mean looting is trollish, I feel like an absolute slug trying to pickup Items I can't see, or can see just not pickup because lol. Three, throwing grenades is like trying to aim a slingshot. Four, it's extremely hard to tell what weapon you're holding, or if it even has pulled out yet, as well as reloading, you have to use audio queue's and that's just a no go. Five, lord forgive, trying to throw caustic traps and other abilities, I just couldn't believe how hard it was.
At this point I was already screaming how bad this mode was for Apex, it was just poison, and I had to keep telling myself while I was completing the missions, "it's only for two days, it's only for two days."
Don't get me wrong, I went into playing it feeling confident that it would be fun. I was wrong, very, very wrong.
I hope I only have to say this once...
Apex Legends does not work in 3rd person and should be kept with all the other LTM's
You like third-person? you know what to play.
I usually don't completely disagree with suggestions posted on the forums, but this is a 100% exception.
- 6 years ago@Witherpizza You do realize we are asking for a setting, you will be able to use first person or third person depending on whichever you prefer the most

Like I said. @FaIIenAngeI777 , even as an option. It just ruins the whole point of Apex Legends existing. Apex Legends is one of if not the only true first-person battle royale as far as I know. If they add a third-person mode, what makes it so much more special than like a game like PubG?
FPS only for the win.

No thank you. Maby if there was a toggle option but I'd only use 3rd person for running with a wider view.
- 6 years ago@Witherpizza You know, it is very possible for the game to have both... This LTM proved that.
So why are you so against this game having BOTH options available? People like you can play FPS, and people who like TTP can play that.
Can you provide an actual argument as to why you don't think it should be added, other than that you just don't like it and don't want it to even touch the core game?- 6 years ago
I think the main issue would be longer queue times. Especially if they include "everything" people want. With the player base in the shape that it is and the attitudes people have, I personally can't see it happening for some time.
Solo,duo,3p,fp,casual, ranked, different maps, different modes...the list goes on and so would queue times
❤️
- 6 years ago@jumanjaydazed The way I see it:
- Apex is gradually losing more of its player base, so if they don't start adding content and variety that trend will only continue.
- If Apex adds more variety they will likely keep and even increase that player base. More players = less queue time
Also, I don't know about you, but I would prefer to add an extra minute to my queue time if it meant playing something I wanted, like solos or even TPP. But there is no guarantee that more variety would create longer wait times. In fact, queuing up for TPP was by far the quickest queue times I have had in awhile.

For those who say an option in settings is good, what about having the ability to peek around corners (like others have said)?
Just like MouseKeyboard vs Controller, FPS vs 3rd person carries the same argument; both have some advantages and disadvantages, where's the consistency with who is using 3rd person and who's using 1st person? Let's say you are using 1st person and an enemy is using 3rd, now who's going to see who first around a corner? Don't forget that in 3rd person you technically have more view of your surroundings.
For those who say that adding 3rd person as a mode, why? How can you play Apex Legends for this long and say that 3rd person would be a great addition?
Lobbies would be split, I want to get in an FPS match let's say, and if 80% people like 3rd person so much, how long do you think it would take me to get into a 1st person match?
Game no longer becomes new user-friendly. New players would most likely struggle to choose modes. I know this from experience when I first tried out PubGMobile, I needed a friends help on a lot of things, and the which is better 3rd or 1st person was one of those things.
Think of it like this, let's say there's some gamer, his name is Ben, he says, "I want to play a battle royale game, I've never tried Battle Royale before." Now, Ben has heard about 2 free Battle Royales that are very popular at the moment, he says, "Which one should I pick?" at the current moment, one of them is strictly 1st person, and the other is 3rd person. Ben says, "Well I like 3rd person, so obviously I will choose the game which is using this feature." Now that's an easy choice and a no-brainer, Ben likes 3rd person, he went for the 3rd person Battle Royale.
Let's go back in time and let's say the FPS BR added 3rd person before Ben had the idea of playing a BR game. Now he is confused which game is the better option. Their basically the same, just one of them is going to be worse because it wasn't built to be in 3rd person, but Ben doesn't know that yet.
I'm sorry, but if they add an option or a mode, I would just have to quit. It already takes me 2 minutes to get into a match.
Keep the 3rd person players on the 3rd person BR. Keep the 1st person players on the 1st person BR.
ALSO, how are DT's (digital threats) going to work, yeah we'll just make it so you can fps with those, like wut? That is what is known as a stacked advantage.
Apex Legends was never made for 3rd person and technically wouldn't work without consequences that in my opinion, would ruin the CORE of the game.
That being said, I am here for the FPS, if they add Third-person, then I'm out and that's the last straw.
- 6 years ago@Witherpizza I agree. I have no idea why people think an option to choose FPS or TPP, in the same lobby, would be a good idea. If TPP is going to be implemented, it needs to be a separate game mode and I think the Devs are smart enough to know that as well.
