Lifeline re-rework from a lifeline main

@elevationFPS I can't share an opinion on anything other than the new revive. Its fantastic as it is and doesn't need a nerf/buff. If you need to finish a downed player that badly just shoot them when the revive finishes or throw grenades around the barrier like everyone has done before.

Yeah auto-revive is broken, stupid and lazy.

I said it many times you should not take the kills from the people, or you going to end up in a mess and lose your player base for sure.

Firstly its not easy to place the grenade right at the spot behind the shield. Second, you got 2 people that are shooting to you. Good luck landing the grenade on Lifeline. And third, unlike a normal revive ,you actually have to do 100 damage to stop the revive and to actually kill him. And Forth, you may not have grenade at all, or already spending them.

When you down someone, most of the time you get damage as well, and you need to heal up, and then push, and you got a time to do this. Now they are making you thinking for 1 more thing, and making you take more risk, and if you get third party, you are 100% * and you won`t get your deserved kill.

So if i down an enemy i got to focus and kill him when he is down in order to get a kill and advantage, but i`m a free target in that time. Let said i down player he auto-revive him with a lazy stupid broken ability, that require zero skill or sense to use the ability, and someone else down him after he magically touch him for 0.1 seconds and i won`t get the kill, you get that?

You are actually punish the better player in the current situation, and taking their deserved advantage when they down someone. Instead of fixing third party, they are making it worst.

Now if you down someone and third party is coming, good look taking the team out in time or at least getting the kill.

It also make literally impossible 1v2 or 1v3 or 2v3, unless you down the Lifeline or he is a total bot. In order to win in such situation, you need to move a lot, split enemy, down one, pop battery, repeat and go again.

Now good luck with the auto-revive bot move.

Op has a point.
In order to make a good and useful legend, you need 2 thing for that legend. Or actually 3 if we going to put hitboxes in the topic ...

But if we talk about ability, you need a good self ability and a good team ability in order to make a good legend. Aka - Pathfinder grapple for self ability and his zipline for team.

Wraith phase for herself, and portal for the team.

This is the worst patch in terms of balance, and outside of Octane Jumpad buff, everything else was just plain bad.

@LordloshBang I'm not sure if this makes it harder for some players but this is the only game where they show me the exact landing spot of any grenade I throw. It doesn't seem hard to angle one behind a lifeline shield. It's also much easier to just time your grenade to explode the second the revive finishes. No need to aim it that well and no chance for the player to escape.

As for fighting 1v2 / 1v3 or the increased difficulty of gaining a kill well... I don't know if its right to disagree with you here. I'm a defensive minded player so I focus on preventing a kill more than finishing one. This obviously means that I'm a fan of the drone revive but it doesn't make my stance or play style correct.

heme725, i don`t agree about the grenades. Yes you have indicator, but you still need to aim it to land them on point, and its still not easy. Frag is probably the hardest to hit.

For sure its not easy to time the grenade to bypass the shield and to land straight on the reviving player. You got to understand that you won`t have all the time in the world to do this. And his teammates will attack you as well.

And again you probably need to heal in that time, because you was fighting. Whole auto-revive thing is a complete lazy work from the DEV, same with Revenant Totem.

And most of the time you actually use your grenade to engage, and not to finish the fight, so there is big chance that you won`t have grenade at all to throw.

And no ability should make you wear a certain type of items, aka grenade in this case.

Again the main problem is, they are taking the rightful advantage you gain by downing a player, and they are taking the kills out of you, if he is auto-revive, even if someone else down it. You will leave with empty hands.

I said it many times, 2 things you should not mess up with, and that is revive and death. No ability should interfere with this 2, because its hurt the gameplay.

This is not rant against Lifeline. But this rework was lazy, bad and this ability is stupid, require no skill at all to use it, and actually hurt the better player.

What they should have done is actually buff her tactical and the ultimate(they did it and its good), and not touch her passive. The shield when you revive someone was already too good.

And i actually thin Gibraltar should lose his fast revive in his dome as well. Its already a cover in order to get the revive, but nothing should give you edge in that.

As far as 1v2, 1v3, and 2v3 situation, yeah its totally kill the game.

I`m actually not happy with the direction Respawn is taking. Power creep of the ability should stay in check, yet they are starting to increase it, and this will hurt a lot of player base, that don`t want 1st person dota or LoL.

Ability should not interfere that much with the gameplay, after all this is a FPS.

1 thing is for sure, she is not what we can call a combat medic anymore. which is sad.

@SadLifeline6991 I agree with you about Gibraltar but for different reasons. During a revive Gibraltar's role should be harassing the enemy team. That 50 hp gun shield and havoc is a lot more useful in denying a push than Wraith dancing around with a R-99.

Everything you say about Lifeline SEEMS wrong. She's a support legend that's often played as an assault legend. Being dependent on having your team nearby to make full use of her abilities seems typical for a support character so I see no problems there. Players that have used her for so long will naturally hate the changes and you should. However she was 90% combat and 10% medic in the eyes of her team before so these changes fit her description better.

@LordloshBang I don't think the developers wanted this to be an ability heavy game either but if that's the case then they never should have given the characters different hit boxes. 

More importantly I believe the real issue will be the same thing that made Gibraltar's dome revive OP. The Golden Backpack. You can easily push a dome and drop Gibby plus his team mate so long as Gibraltar doesn't have a golden backpack. With the back pack and you're jumping into a close range 1 v 2 against nearly full health opponents.

Lifeline would be able to revive a team mate and leave her drone behind to heal meaning he's up and nearly full health in a matter of seconds. All that and Lifeline barely has to disengage from combat to pull it off. That's pretty scary to fight against in Ranked.
