Mad Maggie Thoughts after 2 Weeks of Play
Overall Impression? Great!
She feels like a pretty well-balanced character that doesn't break the meta, and while I would like them to release more support characters, I personally have really enjoyed playing her! So what is so great about her?
First Off, the movement speed provided when holding a shotgun works even when aiming down sights! Which makes her harder to hit. This alone is a pretty great perk to have and really comes in handy.
Second, The Riot Drill really makes her an Anti-Cover/Anti-Wall Hugger as she can force enemies out of cover while also damaging them a significant amount if they don't move quick enough. The damage buildup can also finish off downed enemies too sometimes and is overall a great tactical to have. You just gotta be precise with it, however.
Third, Wrecking Ball is really fun to use because it does three things, It helps you and your squad move upon an enemy squad fast or get around quicker if needed, it helps break down doors and does damage in a small aoe when it nears an enemy, and it knocks around players which can knock them out of cover, off a ledge or displace them away from their squadmates. It's a great asset if used correctly!
So with all that said, what are the *?
Honestly, the ability to reveal enemies shortly after damaging them might as well not even be a feature with how short it lasts. Not once have I ever thought of this as a necessary addition to her kit. I would much rather give this perk to a scout character and increase the duration and have it so maggie reloads shotguns faster or has more ammo capacity like how Rampart has with LMG's.
In conclusion, She's a solid pick for players who like mobility and getting into engagements quickly while also punishing cover campers. Just remember to communicate with your team because charging in alone can turn what would have been an easy win into a 2v3 lol.
