The reason to the self stun is because it works like a frag grenade, if you're in the radius you blow yourself up too. It's a bit more realistic that way.
Best time to use Ult is when about 15m-25m away, not in their face, that way you throw it in their face and don't get stunned.

@ZulkiersDoesn't mean they can't make it an option. Fuses' ultimate has the option of not getting stunned and halves self damage. Not to mention the damage hers does is pretty weak for an ultimate. Overall, pretty bad at doing anything other than being a tactical diversion (plus speed boost i guess).
So after using her ultimate for while now it desperately needs a damage buff. Averaging 20-40 damage is ridiculous. Every now and then rarely I'll get 60 maybe it's an 80 idk but it only happened like twice for me. But honestly 60-80 is what we should be getting anyways.

Although I think it's damage is meant to be in the guns you are holding because of its stun.
You throw it upon them, stun them, shoot and flank them, and they can't defend that well because they are stunned.
