And by the way, KC night was still better than Kings Canyon. It was also only on fir a half an hour. So much crying over a map that was barely there.
Map selection is equal to long waiting in the queue. Apex has a lot of players, but consider they are spread through different platforms and servers.
Currently we have three game modes (2 casuals and 1 ranked) in 3 maps; if we get the option to choose between maps, players on our server and platform will be divided into 9 groups (3 map, 3 mode each), which will most certainly increase the length of waiting time before a match.
I think it's too early and Apex needs more players before offering the map selection. Statistically, it needs three times more players to keep the waiting time as same as current with map selection.
- @Alphabets That is why the respawn dev's hinted they plan on implementing crossplay. Hopefully they do it right. Then and only then could they potentially consider allowing map selection. That's still a big IF even then.
