Hello Respawn and the community,

I am a 55-year-old dedicated Solo Queue player with 9,957 hours of playtime (Steam + EA app). I have accumulated 61,586 kills with a lifetime K/D of 1.2. Despite my experience, my lobbies are constantly filled with cheaters, pre-made predator squads, and professional players, making the Solo Q experience exhausting.

My Suggestion:

Integrate a "Kills per Hour" (K/H) metric into the matchmaking algorithm.

Why this would work (Using my stats as an example):

• My profile: 61,586 kills / 9,957 hours = 6.18 kills per hour. This represents a legitimate, long-term veteran player with natural human reflexes.

• Cheaters/Smurfs profile: A cheater or a high-level smurf using a fresh account will easily reach 30, 40, or 50+ kills per hour due to aimbots or playing against lower-tier lobbies.

Benefits:

1. Cheater Isolation: Players with an absurdly high K/H ratio would be automatically pooled together into high-intensity lobbies, effectively quarantine-ing them away from legitimate players.

2. Protecting Solo Q Veterans: Veteran players who have high total stats but reasonable "per hour" ratios wouldn't be punished by being thrown into pro/cheater lobbies just because of their high lifetime kill count.

Thank you for reading and considering this adjustment for older, dedicated veterans who love the game but struggle against unfair matchmaking lobbies.

Maybe increasing the account level to 100 will help to decrease the smurf population in Ranked. Overall, I don't think there's a grand solution to stop players from smurfing on alt accounts.
Additionally, there's no way to stop players from cheating without legal action. Players who cheat have a lot of determination and will find backdoors, to be honest it's fascinating. I couldn't imagine having that type of energy. Gaming should be fun and chill, as with any other pastime.
Furthermore, I don't think "precise metrics" will work in any matchmaking system without increasing wait times. In order to segregate a player pool I would imagine that the player population would need to be massive. Then there's the low-peak vs high-peak hour issue. Implementing precise metrics would function best during high-peak hours.
Lastly, I think its best to separate pro players from the issue of smurfs/cheaters in Ranked, unless they're cheating. If you reached the higher ranks you should be playing against the best. Matchmaking is going to pit you against the same or higher ranks. There's no way around it. This truth applies to every Ranked system.
