This is by far my least favorite update ever. I try to take the different different buffs and nerfs and stride. It's part of the game and it's part of making the game go but taking away the champion circle is absolutely ludicrous to me. The whole point is to win the match and be recognized is the champion of the match. Please ASAP bring back the champion circle before I lose my mind. I cannot be the only person to think this.
Only fools and newbies of the game will not see this change as clear as change to "rank distribution" bar before the games = Respawn is just actively masking their matchmaking that is tailored towards higher ranked players having field day in lower ranked lobbies, not matching Preds vs Preds but giving them D4 and even Plats.
Same with champion - remove it, so people do see that Pred 3stack is in your lobby time and time again and winning game after game. Which will become obvious anyways after they kill you given their 15+ kill/game streak.
This is disgusting! Instead of reverting Preds back to situation where Pred lobbies contain only Pred teams and took 10-15 min to matchmake and leave mortals out of the mix, you just "hide" the obvious rigged system.
Honestly would spit in the face of a person who made all of these changes and f-up ranked since then.
p.s. not sure who is discouraged given how many profiles are not bought and sold. AKA is it better to know that there is "ex Pred" in your lobby (that theoretically should be based on MMR = his current skill matches your current skill... trying not to laugh while writing this) and still win him in 1v1 vs not having that info and get owned by some low level smurf with cheats running servers for the day... go figure. Banners is not an issue, matchmaking is!
I do miss seeing the Champion screen in Ranked 😥 I came across it playing Bot Royale.
I actually thought it represented the best player and team well, most matches.
The only drawback was that it made players Champion when they had done well in a separate game mode.
I remember running into Champion players/teams endgame in Ranked and thinking "that's them, let's go get'em" 😡 Sometimes, those players/teams won the match.
When I first started playing Apex it was the banners that caught my attention first and then realizing I could be up there for the whole lobby to see. Now the in-game banners are for the kill leader only in Ranked.
Hopefully the Champion screen gets put back into Ranked soon.
It was also satisfying realizing that my team eliminated the Champion player/team, especially endgame.
