New Updates Turn Off Veteran Players

I’m a season 0 vet here. I love my OG legends and the badges/banner stats I’ve grinder them to. With this new season I feel like I’m at a huge disadvantage against any ballistic, ashe, or sparrow.
The disparity between these legends and any other legend when it comes to skill floor is ridiculous.
Playing as sparrow or ashe gives you a free movement input that is completely unfair. How does it balance that as any other legend I need to: holster, sprint, slide-jump to reposition. But with these two legends you just double tap jump and it’s a free fight every single time.
Honestly the worst part is that I know respawn won’t admit their mistake and altogether remove the dash they have, as well as not give other legends a fair slice in gunfights.
This game will die with these current legend abilities, even though it’s one of the more fun seasons for gun-balance.

Indeed, in a discussion, how you communicate is as important as what you say. For instance, dismissing player feedback as unhelpful simply because you dislike their tone is both emotional and rude. Furthermore, it's inappropriate to avoid discussing the structure and environment of the game when talking about game balance, and instead focus on personal anecdotes.

Ash's pick rate is over 20% overall and more than 30% in Pred/Master lobbies. Alter and Ballistic follow with 8-9% overall and 15% in Pred/Master lobbies. This situation is abnormal for a game with 27 characters.

Your opinion that counters are possible through playstyle contradicts the more pronounced bias in pick rates within Pred/Master lobbies compared to other ranks. This data indicates that the situation cannot be overcome by individual skill alone.

Your statements seem to be based only on what you wish to believe, without supporting data. I suggest you should be more careful with your words and actions.

Yes I understand that some players may be frustrated and that MM can be problematic and could be done better.

It is not only what you say but how you say it.

Some of what is said has merits but some is unsubstantiated statements.

Example: " 70% of legends are unplayable, and in the past six months, Ash has ruined the entire game." what legends are unplayable and why? Ash has not ruined the game, yes she is Meta and she is tough to play against especially when used in certain combos with other Legend, however if one were capable of changing their playstyle to counter her it is not all that hard. I main a legend that probably falls in the above mentioned 70% unplayable and am doing fine.

Blekerodo's claims certainly seem emotional and don't offer direct solutions. However, Blekerodo does present specific data and speculate on causes, which can be seen as indirectly suggesting solutions.

I think it's understandable for users to get emotional and not directly offer concrete solutions. Doesn't this situation suggest user frustration and exhaustion due to the developers largely ignoring their desperate pleas and proposed solutions?

Even parents and teachers get fed up with children who plug their ears and shut their eyes, running away no matter how many times they're warned. Moreover, we are adults talking to adults. The bar for giving up is low.

Instead of reacting defensively to emotional comments, the developers should feel a sense of crisis about their own approach. There's no time to criticize others.

  • I'm a player since Season 17, but I agree with your opinion. Additionally, it's not a problem limited to veterans.

Ash's rework was a failure. Ash's pick rate improved, but it broke the overall game balance. (Over 20% globally, over 30% in Pred/Master lobbies)

Ash's rework led to the OP-ing of combinations like Ballistic and Devotion, low-risk third-partying and revives by Alter, Pathfinder flying around, and the new character Sparrow who can do anything.

I think excessive buffs should be avoided, just like excessive nerfs. However, if an excessive buff is made, it should not be left alone; it should be nerfed and adjusted. You should not abandon corrections.

If the cause of an unhealthy environment is excessive adjustments, then you should not leave it alone and properly adjust (buff or nerf) and fix it. This is because you cannot change the outcome without eliminating the cause. You should not try to cover it up with superficial patchwork.

The developers admitted that their experiment of giving all characters a dash failed. Similarly, they should admit that giving Ash a dash was also a failure.

Do you even play this game anymore?

Or do you just drop post's on other peoples threads to trash talk the game?

Constructive criticism/Feedback would be nice, possibly even helpful. Destructive criticism helps no one.

  • Respawn formula for success:

    1. Choose a previously average or slightly below average pick rate legend.
    2. Buff that legend to the point of absurdity.
    3. Watch the pick rate go through the roof.
    4. Watch that legend's in-store garbage sell faster.

Financial success achieved, gameplay be damned.

  • The trash bin is the right place for this game right now.

Over 40,000 people, on PC and Steam alone, have abandoned this game in less than a month and a half.

70% of legends are unplayable, and in the past six months, Ash has ruined the entire game.

What can you expect? If the dash isn't completely removed, it's game over.
