Great post here and I agree with you that something needs to be done to help out controller players with this. You are not the first one to complain about it.
However complaining alone will not fully help solve the problem. Do you have a suggestion that you can post here that might be a workable solution to the issue?
I myself do not have a solution or suggestion since I am a MnK player on PC and do not fully understand the mechanics of your issue.
I know how you feel bro. This has costed me some fights. The game needs to find a way to prioritize certain actions over others in certain scenarios.
- @MichelPostma More like doors, respawn beacons, downed team mates, team mates banners, crafting machines, zip lines and just about practically anything else that requires you to press the reload button.
It's stupid how your character just wont reload in these situation and has been a massive problem since day 1. They really don't care at this point thats obvious.
Same thing with death boxes. Theyre huge and they block doors and can completely screw you over lol. It's weird how this game is considered competitive with all the stupid broken stuff that has been around since day 1. I thought the devs would have have all this tuff figured out but since apex released they only care about making money instead of fixing core issues. @Asmodeus566Make it so we have to ads towards the thing we want to use. Except doors and ziplines. That would just be more annoying.

Another case with Wattson, when you try to reload a weapon, you remove the fence node too.
You have to make sure that the fence node does not hit the target, sometimes it can be tricky when you put many fence node in a building.
- @MichelPostma Yep, this is a thing. Same thing happens when standing near a door or deathbox. Only way to sort of counter it is to empty your mag and hold down the fire button and your gun would auto reload when empty.
There are 2 easy solutions for this.
Either
1. Check if the player tapped the reload/revive button or long pressed it. If it was a tap, perform reload. If it’s a long press, perform revive
2. If I am looking directly at my downed teammate -> revive. If I am not looking at them directly, and I am only simply near them then reload.
Pick one of these PLEASE respawn. Even Warzone gets this right by choosing option number 2!
This is me running into this issue earlier today for the 1000th time
Here is the 100000th time I have not been able to reload next to a downed teammate because it prioritises a revive. HOW IS THIS STILL AN ISSUE SINCE LAUNCH?
2 possible solutions/fixes:
1. Know the difference between a tap and a long press. Tap -> Reload, Long Press -> Revive
2. OR have it based on whether you are looking at your downed teammate or looking somewhere else. Right now if you are within about 3 metres of a downed teammate it will prioritise a revive EVEN IF you are facing 180 degrees away from them.
Even Warzone gets this one right by opting for option 2. They realise that teammates inevitably get downed during a firefight and they also realise that reloading your gun is important during a firefight.
PLEASE RESPAWN, How in gods name is this still an issue since launch??? Please Acknowledge!!!!!!!!

FYI - You can empty your entire magazine in your gun, then press shoot one more time to force a reload. But I’m usually dead before I realise whats going on, after I spam the reload button a couple times and run out of cover to try and remove the revive prompt in sheer panic
- BigMacAttack8u4 years agoSeasoned Ace@MichelPostma I believe a simple solution to this, is for it to be set to prefer reload narrad of revive, son instead of going: revive -> open door -> reload, it would be better as: reload ->
revive -> open door. Also when you try to resurrect yourself by a door, it opens the door, and starts your revive, which can be fatal, it should only do one at a time, it should register a hold vs a tap differently, not the same thing.
