OCTANE NEEDS BUFF

OCTANE NEEDS A BUFF/CHANGE

1. His Speed

Ill start by saying that with a name like Octane and having the description of “High-Speed Daredevil” you would think he would be the “fastest” overall legend. Sadly he is not. Legends such as wraith run at a faster rate (yes octane stims but for a very short time not being able to cover much more distance than wraith), Pathfinders grapple can be used to launch and cover distances insanely fast. Bangalore can escape gunfire without taking stim damage at an incredible speed as well.

2. Sound of stim

A game that requires all senses its debilitating to have a stim thats so loud that you actually cant hear anything but the stim while its active.

3 How is Octane not a  “Low Profile” Legend

He not only takes his own damage from his stim and for the short period of time that its active, octane can and should be low profile to help him escape around corners or situations he is already injured in.

4. Jumped predictability

Either add the ability to wall run or wall run/jump after hitting jump pad or the ability to move in a more unpredictable manor. Countless players get lasered from the same rainbow jump he gets projected.

5. Jump pad deploy 

The deploy time is to long/ and had major lag and glitch issues.

6.FEEL FREE TO COMMENT AND ADD MORE IM TIRED AND SURE THERES COUNTLESS MORE! 

I have over 20k kill with octane thats my background for experience

    Personally, I like where Octane is at right now but at times do feel like Pathfinder has a little more versatility. When you get towards the end of the game the need to run faster becomes more limited.

    My thoughts:

    • Slightly increase the amount of health that gets taken off when you stim but make the regen faster
    • Reduce the cooldown on the jump pad OR leave the cooldown the same and give an option to throw down a second jump pad. That way you can jump from building to building. 

    Only potential issue I see with the second jump pad is when you combine him with Wattson and Caustic. I love throwing the jump pads right outside doors to make it harder for players to come in (or even inside of a building right around the corner where they might not see it). If you were able to cover a second entry it might cause a balance issue, maybe. 

    I think it's important to always think about the makeup of your squad rather than just an individual contributor. If you combine Octane, Bangalore, and Wraith/Lifeline/Bloodhound, you'll have 2 players moving at faster speeds while getting shot at while you can create portals inside the smoke to evac, or heal within the smoke with lifeline. Aggressiveness would be the key with Legends that are fast, IMO. Go with the SMGs or Pistols that can use digital threats so you can pop your smoke at enemys and rush them.

    Or maybe you chose not to settle it for reasons we can’t comprehend currently.
