Performance regression in latest patch: frame rate hitches

Ryzen 2700 @ 3.8, 16GB @ 2933, GTX 1070 @ stock.

Game installed on an SSD.

Since the latest patch I'm experiencing intermittent frame rate hitches; doesn't happen in all matches, and when it does happen it's only once or twice per match.

They tend to happen when moving around the map; perhaps related to recent performance optimisations?

Has texture streaming aggressiveness been reduced?

It certainly didn't happen before the most recent patch.

Others I've played with have noticed the same (with a variety of hardware configurations)

Have you tried any specific troubleshooting in the forums when "frame rate or FPS drop" is searched? There weren't any texture streaming adjustments made via the patch notes. Do you have fullscreen optimisations disabled if you go to the game folder>right-click on the R5Apex.exe application>Select properties>Compatibility?

Would you mind uploading a DxDiag for us so we can look at your full system specs?

Same problem for me on a R5 3600, RTX 2080 16Gb Ram. Everything stock. This problem started a few days ago.

@EA_Blueberry attached a dxdiag to my original post.

To answer your question, I haven't tried any troubleshooting, and nothing is out of the ordinary wrt .exe settings.

On the day of the most recent update:

    1) Played game in the morning, no hitching.

    2) Played game in the afternoon, after the update had dropped, hitching was present.

Further details missing from my initial post:

Nvidia drivers 430.86 (these haven't changed recently)

I play at 1920x1080@66hz on my primary display; the machine has 2 other displays (both 1920x1200@60hz).

Game was capped (via cmd-line arg) to 120fps.

As an aside, I today upgraded my primary monitor to a 144hz display & increased the fps cap to 141. (the dxdiag is taken after this upgrade had taken place).

Due to the improved fluidity the hitching is now even more noticeable.

I just found the solution for me, I closed MSI Afterburner and everything works fine now...

    @TheJumpingJawa

Do you have MSI Afterburner like @CeeKay2k mentioned?

There's a few things we can try:

    1. Disable all overlays like Discord and Origin In-Game (Origin client>Click Origin in the top left corner>Application Settings)
    2. Update your Nvidia GPU to the latest driver
    3. Right-click on the game and select "Repair."
    4. Launch the game.
    5. If you get the same results, please perform a clean boot and then immediately launch the game once the PC starts up. This is how we can identify if it's another program running in the background.
