Firstly, I agree, we need something to do once we hit level 100. There should be no cap, just a prestige where it resets and you can work towards earning apex packs again. That by itself would be more than enough imo for a free-to-play game.
I don't think rewarding an Apex Pack for winning is a good idea. However, rewarding something like 50 crafting metals and some legends tokens (after all, your legend just won the apex legends BR) is a great idea. This would allow you to slowly build up and purchase the cosmetics and new legends that you really want.
With those two aspects, it should be a slow stable income. After all, people have to grind out stuff, once you hit level 100, you feel like you're not earning anything. Earning EXP and gaining levels in itself feels rewarding as you progress when that stops a few players will burn out because they're playing the same game without the same rewards.

I also agree with having individual legends levels, it would be cool to have some skins unlock or features at certain ranks and also being able to prestige the legends so that you can have infinite progression. Would be really nice to be able to show off, especially when you're the Champion or the Kill Leader.
i agree it feels like u punish plp for playing more i love this gave and ledgend tokens cant be spent on any thing but i think not every win should get an apex pack but maybe every other. TBH there is no real incentive to win the game u get more out of hiding and letting everyone kill and just die at the end and get tŕ he same xp or close

I'm already feeling the pointlessness of playing until the battle pass hits. I just passed level 50, so now I'm getting more Legend Tokens than Apex Packs. I don't know why they made the reward system so punishing and torturous for those who can't or don't want to invest in the loot boxes. Out of all the other games I play, none of them are like this. I just hope they intend to do something about this.

Well, we still don't know what we get with battlepass patch. But until that patch, this reward system really problematic... After reaching level 100, you do not receive any prize except for legend tokens (which is a currency that is impossible to spend at this point.) as a result of playing or winning game. Problem is you don't want to play more when you don't feel rewarded as a result of playing hundreds of hours. I'd like to say before people start hitting me. I know this is a f2p game, but we do not expect them to rain free skins on us... Unlimited grind is essential in an online game to keep people in the game.Just let us unlimited grind for free stuff or unlockables or achivements&challenges whatever... otherwise after a while people get bored and the game will die. Most of my friends bored and quit. I have to play solo now... I don't want to see it happen globaly.
Here are a few ideas to solve this problem;
- Separated legend level system: Each legend gains levels separately, wins prizes in various ways in each new level (Like Overwatch & Heroes of the Storm model)
- Apex Pack sale with legend tokens: An effective and rewarding way to spend the legend tokens we earned by playing hundreds of hours (maybe 4000-5000 Legend Token = 1 Apex Pack) An easy way for adding unlimited grind to game is apex pack sale with high amount of legend tokens. so ppl can grind exp after 100 in a meaningful way... (Like Battlefield1 model)
- Keep combined level system but unlimited level cap with apex pack in every five levels (Just like 51-100 but unlimited)
- Rewarding winners with apex pack or some craft metals or single random loot.
- Daily quest system: Daily quests with some craft metal reward (3 quest per day?) or one apex pack as a reward for completing 3 daily quest.
*Some ideas above cannot be implemented at the same time.
Before ppl comment like "This is a f2p game","it's not a charity", "They have to earn money for continuity" bla bla bla... I know all of this, and I'll support by buying battlepass, but that's not the point. Don't bring the subject here all the time... Subject about to continuity. it's about making people addicted to the game. The only way to do this is to add grind.
