Proposing an anti-teaming system

There should be a system in place for the to game prevent teamers, not just wait for a mass amount of users to die to teamers to report them.

This is just an example. Tweak it, propose something better, discuss it. It’s so lame to see a game so fun become cheeks because of cheaters and teamers.

Maybe a system where within about a 30m or less radius if players stay within a certain range from enemy players, with line of sight with each other, do not shoot each other and continue that behavior for a couple minutes then they get banned or kicked from match.

Use whatever system wraith has and tweak it to fit

an anti-teaming system

I barely got to Plat IV and i just met my first set of teamers, and i know how bad it gets seeing clips of higher ranks. I’m on console and i know it’s worse on PC.

  • @Jojo_Mamaa I've suggested something like this before, but others have pointed out to me that players who play it smart, (and the ones who hide the whole match), might also get flagged for teaming.

So, the system would have to be well programmed to only flag those who are actually teaming.

I've had instances where I had to hide from an enemy team when on my way to a respawn beacon. While I had line of sight on them, they didn't notice I was even there. With the system you proposed, the game would kick me out for "teaming", even though I was only trying not to get eliminated so I could bring back my teammates.

It's not hard. It just can't draw conclusions at any moment in time. But once it is obvious, the solution is to dock their stats hugely, drop their K/D from 5 to .5, etc... Make them pissed.

It could detect teaming if two teams are in the same room and not shooting each other. But it would have to be over the top obvious that no other conclusion could be drawn.

"It could detect teaming if two teams are in the same room and not shooting each other."

This won't end teaming. It will create smarter teamers. They will realize that while holed up in that room all they have to do is fire one single bullet at each other and then the teamer detector resets. In exactly the same way that aimbot makers realized they could be detected by consistent 100% accuracy. So they adjusted their software to give the cheater 98% accuracy. Or 94%. They just keep testing the waters until they know exactly where they need to be to fly under the radar.

I don't mean to make this all sound hopeless. But this is all hopeless.

Anything is possible, just need to think it all through. I do think my scenario can be realized, just need to study behavior until the conclusion is self evident.

I guess its actually super difficult to make such automatized system that wouldnt give false positives. Perhaps less than it would bann teamers but still not secure enough to use in the game. There are so many "what if"s that it would be impossible to cover all angles.

Example: I had a high diamond match where a full team with a Caustic and a Rampart had totally dug in in the small room in the most south-western building in the bottom corner of Thermal station of Worlds edge. It was just before the last round of the match and perhaps 6 teams alive (insane). My team had the rest of the building and we knew that if we pushed them we could either just lose the fight, or win and get 3rded.

As the timer ticked down towards the last round, it became less and less worth to even peak and try to get a knock too. Low on heals and ammo and one of us getting knocked would severely lower our chances for the last fight for the circle. Result = our full two teams just stood beside each other, sometimes quickly peeking but without really shooting for 1.5 rounds. How to prevent the system to flag us for teaming? Would we have to be forced to fight each other to avoid this?

But just out of curiosity: is this really an issue outside master/pred? Why even bother to team in low elo hehe. I think its enough for Respawn to monitor high elo lobbies and ban them manually
