I had this problem but found a really good cheap alternative for ps5 controllers.
Search for extremerate metal back buttons for ps5 controller on Amazon.
They also have plastic versions and a four button version but I would avoid those if I was you. I have all 3 versions on 3 controllers and the metal 2 paddle version is by far the best one and has never broken.
The plastic paddles are prone to snapping and the four button version is awkward to use because of button placement.
They have really good videos on youtube on how to do it and their customer service is really good. I highly recommend you check it out it solved all my issues from using a ps4 strike pack for years on ps4, "For paddles only."
Yeah, I’ve noticed the same issue on the best PS5 version—controller support feels really limited compared to PS4. It would be great if more options were supported, especially for players using custom setups.
