Season 29 Split 1 Summary

Since Split 1 is almost over, I'll send in my thoughts.

The good points are that they were able to add a new Legend, albeit with some issues, and that Broken Moon has been improved. The only thing I didn't like about Broken Moon was the spaceport.

Since what people find offensive about Axle varies from person to person, it's likely that people will find various aspects of this individual problematic.

The way to improve the negative feedback regarding this character's tactical and ultimate skills is simple.

 

  • The solution is to reverse the ultimate skill and tactical skill.

 

Let me explain in more detail.

First, let's start with one of the anomalies of Nitrogate.

Next, I will list the points I found problematic. I will omit points that I have already mentioned.

First, let's explain the initial problem. Due to its nature, Nitro Gate can be used indefinitely, ignoring its cooldown.

A similar skill, if I were to give an example here, would be Octane's ultimate skill.

You should be aware of this, since you brought up Octane as a point of comparison.However, Octane is an ultimate skill.

It's clearly odd that tactical skills and ultimate skills perform at the same level.

 

 

Next, I will explain the second problem.

This tactical skill has an unusually high durability rating. Even after being weakened, its durability remains exceptionally high.

Among tactical skills, only shield-type skills have high durability. This is a reasonable setting considering the nature of shields.

However, Axle's Nitro Gate is a movement skill and has a unique setting unlike anything seen before.

It's easy to imagine why this happened. It's probably because they simply copied Octane's ultimate ability. Understand the difference between ultimate abilities and tactical abilities, and clearly define the concept behind each skill.

 

In conclusion, as mentioned earlier, the solution is to reverse the skills and then adjust them.

Make Nitro Gate an ultimate ability. Then, compare its hitbox size to Octane's ultimate ability and adjust its durability accordingly.

Let's make Kickstart a tactical skill. And let's set its durability to be the same as other tactical skills besides shields.

It should have the same durability as Crypto's drone, around 50, or at most 75. If you set it to 75, you should set a weak point area for Kickstart.

 

 

Thirdly, I believe there is a problem with the sound. Regarding this, since what is easily audible varies from person to person, it is unclear whether it is objective. This is my understanding based on the current state of the axle.  I'm primarily comparing him to Octane as a similar character.

 

The Nitro Gate's movement sound is only the initial startup sound; the sound is too quiet when it comes into contact with an enemy.

Even Octane's skills, which are supposed to have no sound effects, are designed to alert the enemy of his approach with sound, so why is Axel's skill so quiet?

When using Kickstart and Nitrogate at the same time, the Nitrogate's sound is quiet and, like Kickstart's, flat, so it gets drowned out by the Kickstart's sound.

Furthermore, the sound of Valkyrie's jetpack and Axle's kickstart sound are similar. Of course, you can hear the difference if you listen to both, but it's difficult to judge them individually, and choosing the wrong one—whether to look up or down—can put you at a significant disadvantage.

 

As a way to improve this, since even Octane is making an incomprehensible amount of noise, make sure to always produce the same sound while the Nitro Gate effect on the axle is active.

A racing driver shouldn't sound like an electric car. A racing driver should sound at least like a six-cylinder engine. A turbo sound would be nice too. They should also get rid of the meaningless effects and add afterburners; that would be cooler.

 

 

Regarding other points

 

It might be too early to judge the axle's movement speed. Please make your judgment based on the data. You'll probably get used to it, but only with data can we determine how many people will be able to keep up.

 

You probably don't need armor enhancements from the Harvester or hop-up enhancements from the Arsenal.

These are factors that increase the element of luck.

Furthermore, this is a major factor that widens the gap between solo players and full parties.

These factors, depending on individual play styles, are major causes of misunderstandings.

Furthermore, weapon performance adjustments will become much simpler.

 

Changing plans the day before is unacceptable, so please do so at least a few days in advance. Understand that losing credibility is the biggest problem. If the end of the season is going to be solo-only ranked, how about shortening the ranked match period and holding a two-week solo-only ranked match event that all players can participate in?

 

 

I've said this many times, so I hope you understand and are still doing it, but please define the concept for everything before making any decisions.

Even if you're using AI. In fact, it's even more important if you are using AI. Establish a clear concept and then let the AI ​​do what you can do. If you're having it do things you can't do, it's bound to fail eventually. First and foremost, your own skills must improve; even with AI, you won't be able to produce anything good.

AI cannot do everything that humans cannot. It can only shorten the time required. However, when utilized by capable humans, it can produce even greater results.  Because it's equivalent to having more people with the same abilities as highly capable individuals.

 

Please understand that if you're still burying your head in the sand regarding everything that happened in the past, that doesn't count as improvement.

Ultimately, no one knows what the right answer is until the results are in, so it's up to your judgment.
