I respectfully disagree. I really love King's Canyon and I enjoy World's Edge a lot, but this just wasn't a good solution to their problem. At first, I hated World's Edge. I missed the humble beauty and diverse landscape; deserts, swamps, river valleys, hills and settlements of King's Canyon. I hated the bleak and repetitive nature of WE, just a bunch of ice, lava, and city after city. I've grown to like both, but I would like to select my map. The game does have enough players, and most players are willing to wait a bit longer in a queue if it means playing the map they want. Sometimes you just aren't in the mood for KC. Sometimes you just aren't in the mood for WE. I love that they're encouraging players to try both maps. They're both masterpieces in their own way. But forcing players to play a single map for 90 minutes and then forcing them to play another, without a choice? It's just not reasonable. I have played Apex religiously since season 1's release, and continue to play several hours a day, but I wish the maps stopped switching every 90 minutes. It really throws me off my game, to be kicking arse on one map for a straight hour just to be thrown to the other map.
- 6 years ago@SorryWeDied What blows me away is you said kings canyon has diversity?? 89% of that map is brown how is that diversity lol WE has 10 times the diversity that kc has and that one of my biggest issues. I'm like you I hated we at first but that's just because I didnt know where anything was and I was over a month late so everyone I played against knew where to go and after I got used to the verticality I just cant play kc anymore it's so boring and really really hope they change it up. Haven't played since and wont be playing until they change it. I dont want to start and finally get warmed up and have to change the damn map
- 6 years ago@thermalrain The map is diverse. There is the desert portion, containing skull town, thunder dome, a few settlements and market. Then there is the industrial zones, such as Water treatment, Repulsor, artillery and Hydro dam. Then there are muddy areas such as Slums and Swamps, then there are beautiful green fields and river valleys such as the nesting grounds, two spines, river's end, and the area watch tower is built in. World's Edge is literally just fire and ice, no water or forest or desert. I would pick KC for 90% of my matches if I could, and I wish you could see the season 1 form of KC because it's far better than the current season 2 form. What it comes down to, though, is not map preference for me. I just want selection, so WE noobs and KC vets can both live in peace.
