I second this.
It is hard enough to play with random teammates. But having to play with those who are 2 ladders underneath you is just insane.
There are only 3 kind of bronze players: Those who have not played ranked yet because they are too scared knowing they arn't good, those who have played it and are unable to climb up and those who are good but have not played ranked yet. The third case is super rare, but I am mentioning it to get a complete list.
Maybe it is just my imagination, but players like me, who worked their way up to gold and are looking forward to progress further, have a different kind of motivation, than someone who just started in bronze. It is not rare that I see myself being matched with bronze players who arn't shy about taking risks whilst pushing/engaging etc. because "Doesn't matter if I loose, I am not losing ranked points anyways". At least that is my assumption aside the regular "Those players just haven't grown a feeling for the game yet".
So what can you (the game studio) do about it?
1. Do it like CS:GO
They have the perfect solution for teaming up players. Even premades can't have a high rank difference between them, to prevent low ranked players of being carried up in to a league where, based on their actual skill, they don't belong.
Apex's ladder system is made of 5 rankes, each subdivided in to 4 tiers, plus the predator rank. Meaning there are 20 individual ranks to be climbed in order to reach the top. I don't see a single reason why I in Gold 4 should be put in to a squad with someone from Bronze 4, who is 9 ranks below me.
2. Reduce the entry fee for Gold players when they are being teamed with bronze players. You already have a thing called "loss tolerance" which could be easily modified to 'reward' Gold players and above for having to deal with... well, noobs in the best kind of meaning.
