Why not respectful messaging when we die?

I wonder why there aren't really respectful messages to opt for in kill quips.  EA, do you wish harm on your player base?  If not, please balance the options for us!  Most people don't realise the mind has a bias for negative messaging, then it replays it over and over.  Then we wonder why there's so much suicide on the planet.  II'd like to call EA responsible.  That's on hold for now!  Please help me change my mind...

  • jewelheart I'd like to add onto this:

If the player chooses to hear kill quips, only play it once when dying to the same enemy player, (especially in Mixtape). Its not fun to hear the same voiceline over and over again.

Furthermore, quips in general should have a cooldown when used because some players would spam certain quips and not everyone wants to hear that either.

  • Okay, I'll be the "snowflake" who completely agrees with you.

I understand the idea behind them as they are. They're not meant to be taken too seriously, they're meant in "good fun." Blah blah blah.

Okay, Respawn, here's an idea: Have them as they are with every player having the option to turn off incoming kill quips. Just as we can mute all players in the lobby. The killer still gets to say the quip, but nobody has to listen to it if they don't want to.

And just from the standpoint of practicality, I bet you there's no shortage of players who get killed and are already angry enough about that, then to have the enemy do what is sure to feel like a mean spirited quip... this could easily be enough to tip the balance and motivate a player to quit a match that is still far from over. Yeah, yeah, I know, that's on the player, not on the game. But also, it's kinda on the game too. Food for thought.

  • I couldn’t agree more. Fortnite gave the option to hide toxic emotes, I think Apex should give the option to disable Kill Quips.
