Ranked matchmaking is crazy broken.
I was playing a little bit of solo ranked (Diamond IV), in order to catch up to my regular teammates who have reached Diamond III, and the teammates I was getting were, without fail, one Platinum rank, and one Gold rank.
It happened without fail, every single game. (5 games in a row)
Moreover the champion squad routinely had Diamond III players in it?!
- What are Gold & Diamond players doing being put in the same lobby? As they're two ranks apart, they'd ordinarily being forbidden from playing rankedtogether, so why are they appearing in the same lobby?
- What on Earth are Diamond III players doing going up against Gold III ?!?!
Everyone who's played Diamond rank in a squad know about the huge leap in difficulty that occurs when going from Diamond IV, to Diamond III (Diamond III can queue up against Master & Predator, Diamond IV cannot)
So if Diamond III is supposed to be the 'hard mode' threshold, why are some Diamond III players being dropped into low Gold & Platinum lobbies?
That seems like the matchmaker is gifting them easy points.
Is a consequence of this matchmaking behaviour, that ranking up as a solo queuer is easier than as a full balanced squad?
Are solo queuers separated from pre-made squads when in ranked?
There's a lack of transparency in Apex Legend's matchmaking system, yet it's such a crucially important aspect of the game. Some clarity would be much appreciated!
