Yes. Ranked is seriously flawed.
The multiplier in ranked mode should be the *number of kills* (not place finish) and place finished points should be reduced.
Something like this...
9 - 10th = 10. 8 - 5th = 20. 4 - 2nd = 30. Champ = 50.
1 kill/assist x10. 2 k/a x 12. 3 x 15. 4 x 20. 5+ x 25.
5 kills, 12th place = 125 RP minus entry. As of right now that performance would be 50 points minus entry.
2 kills, 5th place = 44 RP minus entry. Right now its 60 points minus entry.
8 kills, 3rd place = 220 RP minus entry. Right now its 140 minus entry.
It takes little skill to camp until top 5. Place finish is important but staying alive WHILE ELIMINATING OTHERS is MUCH MORE indicative of skill than just staying alive. Currently, this is not reflected accurately in ranked mode.
