Re: 3000+ RP Apex predators in Diamond lobbies

If I play late enough at night I'll get put again preds while I'm plat 4. Huge disadvantage because I almost always get people my rank but go against pro players. So I just need to not play ranked past a certain time on the weekends or else I'm just wasting my time

Ranked is a flawed environment anyway. I played it to hopefully have teams of players who were all about the same skill level as me, hoping to not run into a juggernaut who will ROFLSTOMP me, and not looking to mow down newbies. Just looking for balance.

The wait times for full lobbies and the ensuing lagging issues made ranked not fun, so I don't play it anymore. Having higher level players drop down into my rank would not make it any more enjoyable, for certain.

Apex Predators with nothing to lose (rewards) being paired against players who do have something to lose makes no sense. Many other game developers have addressed this problem by removing players from ranked who reach the highest / final ranking. Again, why do this? To prevent trolling, feeding, boosting, and to curtail other styles of game play that shouldn't be rewarded. In Apex this is best seen as the best players are freed from the shackles of placement concerns and treat ranked like it's not. I know there's a ranking system beyond that - but making Diamond players become fodder for these players isn't competitive or particularly fun.
