Re: Destroy pathfinder ziplines.

@AcessorieSS It would imbalance the ult though. Currently in order for a Pathfinder's team to get up high, they have to at least create 1 extra way to get up to them because they can't destroy their own zipline. If you took that out, there are whole sections of the map that I think would need to be radically redesigned.

  • @AnlbrdIt's not really an imbalance if the only thing destroying it is a bullet or bomb ulti.

Nothings stopping us from squad camping on top of repulsor or the slums ridge. Just a sniper bullet that says... no.

Edit. I should clarify I'm talking about the pylon, not the rope. Although that would be hilarious too.

@AcessorieSS I think the point that he is trying to make is that although it would be good if you could destroy other people/teams Ziplines it also means you could intentionally destroy your own. Fire it to some unreachable destination, destroy it and then you could be untouchable.

As it is now anyone can follow you up which is the downside.

@WHITEyy6969 I immediately think how much this would encourage the toxicity of campers in ranked diamond. So sad to say this and think it out loud.

This is sort of already being done with the use of the wall around skull town. Mostly used with a balloon, quite a few zips as well though.

There are no circles that end on unreachable places. But for fights that end near them, we do have quite a bit of tactical, ulti's, and balloons nearby. And to be honest, the circle is very predictable to the point of pathfinders passive being null unless its mid.

I see it this way: We can destroy a jump pad and Watson pylon, but not zip lines.

Opinions are great! Convo is healthy! Love it!

@AcessorieSS Put it this way. What about if you can destroy others but not your own zipline?

As for circles ending on unreachable places. Have you never been in a game were the circle basically finishes on or beside the hill by Slums? Any team that gets there before the final couple of circles is golden. Views all around so you can see anyone follow you up a zip, or if someone fires a new one, and likewise the balloon is far too close so you can see and shoot any that try to use it.

@WHITEyy6969Oh absolutely! But the final circles of that are usually on the west side of that ridge with the houses and the balloon.

Our squad had a ranked game where we couldnt get go them at all (no pathfinder). Their zip was outside circle. Had a Watson and caustic setup. Pure camper style. Really good on their part! But we won the game by just rotating to cover and creating our own (bang/gibby) camp in the buildings. Soon as they dropped off the ridge, they dropped faster than an anti vax kid.

Sorry totally skipped your question. I would say yes only if they did the same to the pad and pylon.  I once saw a caustic ult destroy a Watson pylon on twitch... I might have laughed a little too much at that one.

@AcessorieSS I think the reason that the jump-pads need to be destructible is because you can block doorways with them.
  • Valid point for jump pads! Most players dont know you can shoot them.

  • Technically speaking you can destroy pathfinders ziplines, but only if it has been shot through an open door at any stage. Closing the door removes the entire line.
