@PretzelnutcakeI think this is that not all players will be able to actually do the movement while scrolling for gear. Just like players who can’t strafe, aim and shoot and just stand there shooting. If they ‘enabled’ this feature for console you’d likely get threads and comments like ‘I was looting and accidentally moved and fell of the map’ or ‘I alerted an enemy’ or something as simple like ‘due to the changes in background I couldn’t focus on looting’.
I say this in the most generalized fashion possible; this may divide the console playerbase into some who want the change and some who don’t. The ‘who don’t’ group will likely win. Even if it became a feature that you could turn of you’d get the whiners saying: How come they may strafe because they can! I cannot do it because it’s distracting but I find it an unfair advantage that they still have the option to do it’. Something as weird as that. It’ll be the wingman debacle all over again
