Re: I solo queue Silver and non-stop get Platinum and Diamond lobbies

Their active rank is Plat and Diamond. The old ranks don't even show anymore.

Also, solo Silver shouldn't even be able to get into Platinum lobbies, let alone Diamond...
Rookie to Gold can get +/- 2 major ranks; Plat and above can only get +/- 1 major rank.

I can give you video evidence that:
A) I am solo queue;
B) I am Silver;
C) My lobbies are current rank Platinums and Diamonds.

Its normal for solo Silver players to get current Diamonds in their lobbies??? Hello? That should be IMPOSSIBLE.

So you're saying that I'm the ONLY Silver player that they could find so I keep getting Platinum and Diamond lobbies where I'm the ONLY Silver in it.... like, they can't even find Golds?!

Hehe no not if you identify as a rat, but for me who identify as a MAN, its probably harder =) So then his argument is even less valid since current diamonds are actually worse than form the old system =)

But how do you see your teammates and enemies current rank? I havent figured that out yet. Seems censored for me.

Also, there are no "diamond lobbies" anymore. There are only lobbies that picks players of a certain ELO to the same match. So if its true that you only play with Plats and diamonds, then it means that your ELO is high enough to be placed in those lobbies and most likely are you compensated for that in your LP gains (skill, performance or whtever the new LP categories are called)

You can see the ranks after you die in the top right corner of the screen. Just "observe" the other players.
Also, what is the point of "ranks" if it doesn't even determine the opponents I get and just places me in "appropriate" lobbies anyway? If you're going to just place me in Diamond lobbies, at least give me a Diamond rank... don't place players in lobbies that aren't even reflective of their "rank"! If I don't belong in Silver lobbies, then I'll easily climb out of it... LIKE HOW RANKED SHOULD WORK.

@matzesingt You're telling me that the game couldn't find any GOLD players in queue to fill into the Diamond lobby that they had to pick ME, a SILVER. And not just one time... but EVERY SINGLE GAME I PLAY??
C'mon man, you seem like a sensible fellow... even YOU can see how this is weird right?

Actually, most big competitive games do match their matches based on ELO and not specifically player ranks but the difference between Apex and said other games is that the actual correlation in skills and ELO is weak in Apex, probably even weaker than it was before the changes since you now can gain ELO just by standing outside in the circle and craft medkits. If this correlation was strong, you would want to as fast as possible increase your ELO, thus getting matched with higher ELO opponents thus climb faster in the ranks. But Respawn has failed miserably to implement this properly

I had no issues like that until I hit Silver 1. Now all my teammates and killer squads the last 4 games have been platinum and diamonds. Doesnt feel like the average skill level of my lobby is that different. As a matter of fact, I was struggling much more in Bronze (Bronze3 to Silver4 with 1.2 KD) but had it much easier in Silver (2+ KD). So what I wonder now is where are all the gold ranked hahaha?

Update; I got wiped with -35 for two matches straight and the third match, my teammates were bronze3 and Bronze 2 (but I was ofc still silver1) Very strange matchmaking but once again: the average skill level of the players is just totally random. Respawn just failed with their main goal with the changes. There is even less correlation between rank and skill now.

Yep the matchmaking is broken, has been broken, and will not be fixed. Been that way since season 13. Got worse as the seasons went by. Players have left feedback on this for sometime now. Took me too long to walk away from this game. I guess it was the lack of options out there. My last Apex experience happened the other day. I had a predator in my placement match. My friend said, “look up,” and I saw a fiery red trail glowing above us. I ended up being a Rookie 1 and my friend Rookie 3. No doubt it was a predator. The player made quick work of me. This game is dumpsville!

@matzesingtNo it's not about to be hard to climb but not having fun climbing from lower ranks because you get shreaded by Diamonds and Platinum at your Silver rank just because you play good at preliminaries and Respawn would know that if they did not lay off their veteran testing team!

@liber8mymadne55I'm thinking about uninstalling this game and I played and had it constantly updated since it's release in 2019. I'm a casual and so far I like how game worked and I had fun playing it ... this season ruined everything for me. It's not fun anymore ... this game was only battle roayale what I played and liked because simply by playing this game I had fun. This season I lost that gameplay feel. Game is still great but this matchmaking system is ruining everything.

@Tersi_CZYep! The game itself is fantastic, but the constant team streamers in ranked is dumbfounding at the lower ranks. Anyone stating this isn’t happening to them is at the top of the player tier list. They are having fun roaching me in the lower lobbies. Not fun!

It’s because of the dumb new skill category you get put into. You’ve probably been put into a higher skill “bucket” than your rank says so you get put in diamond lobbies and that’s just gonna be the ranked experience from now on.

I’ve been playing in diamond since I was in silver and I started 5 days ago…

Because in the top right corner when spectator random teammate is diamond 1 and I’m silver 3
