Re: Jitter Aim

@TinyTim6991

First of all; I busted my elbow trying to master this technique so nothing for me thank you very much =).

In principle, I think it ideally not should be in the game because it exploits something not intended in the recoil patter mechanism. But from what Ive heard, its virtually impossible to remove from the game because its apart of the Unreal engine and the fundamental coding how the game interprets and handles all input data involved in the shooting mechanism in the game.

But I actually think it will have a very, very limited practical application for those individuals who actually master it (apparently, it takes some serious practice and skill to be able to do it well even in the firing range). Most "amateurs" will only be able to nullify the recoil of maybe 3/5 rounds in the beginning of the spray and even less at the end of a mag, which makes it even worse than a semi-skilled in traditional recoil pattern control.  I heard a pro talk about it (cant remember who) and he basically said that even if you master it, it will be impossible to do it at the same time as you move, especially if your target is juking, which at least in pro play is the case in every fight. He said it only could work if you are allowed to shoot from a stationary position on a target that's also is more or less stationary or moving in a linear path.

    @Balladalidila Well I'm def relieved that it seems to be a limited technique. I was feeling pretty salty, spending all that time practising recoil control just to throw it all out to furiously flick my joystick (no innuendo intended lol).

    The only think I am a bit worried of is that people vill find ways to abuse this technique so it becomes a cheat. Anyone with some basic scripting skills could make a "jitter-aim script" in Logitechs mouse software that emulates the jitter-aim mechanics but with perfect result and endless duration. But I hope they add detection to this in the anti-cheat. It cant be too hard can it? If the client sided crosshair input is the same every time, like X +1, Y -1, X -1, Y +1, or whatever, it can without doubt be detected as a script and not by human fingers hrmm

    And since we are getting borderline sexual here; as a joke, I suggested to my friend that he could tape his wifes vibrator, which is pretty small, like a laser pointer (Ive smelled hrm I mean seen it) to his mouse and get jitter-aim through an external, mechanic source thus undetectable by anticheat =)

  • Couldn't someone just create a macro that says when the mouse left click is pressed move mouse 1 pixel left, 1 pixel right and so on?

    As far as I know the base version of apex (not mobile) is not running on the Unreal Engine but using a modified version of the Source Engine (similar to Titanfall 2).

    From my understanding "jitter aiming" is basically using the feature of "Aim Smoothing" in an unintended way. Tho Aim Smoothing is probably a feature the devs want to keep to make tracking more user friendly (especially for longer ranges if I'm not mistaken). I'm not entirely sure how the feature operates so idk how hard it would be to remove jitter aiming while keeping the intended use intact.. I think you could probably implement a short cooldown for recoil smoothing whenever you change the direction your tracking.. But I'm not sure if respawn wants to look at this atm anyways.

    I personally things it's pretty strong in the situations where it's useful but due to its limited uses (and users) I'm fine with it ig. Don't like such "mechanics" that involve "unnatural" movement in general tho.. gives me Minecraft PvP jitterclick vibes xD

    This is on the older side of time, I'm closing this thread to stop it from being necroed.

    If you have any issues with APEX, please make a new topic about your problems and what kind of steps you have tried to solve them.
