@Sutts2014Reasons might be :
- One picked the other ones Legend he needs (either for his playstyle or a challenge)
- Wrong Drop Spot
- Wrong Drop Speed or route (too slow or flying too fancy ?!?)
- Not dropping in the first 2/3 of the Map (might be a sign for an AFK Jumpmaster)
- And again : Teammates Legend Choice (People quit when they have an Octane on the Team...)
- Wrong Mode (People wanted to play a different Mode , but are send to Trios ...)
- Phone/Doorbell is ringing
- Girlfriend/Wife/Mum screams you away form the PC/Console
- * Internet/ crappy connection to that particular Server
- Wrong nationality (i guess some Ukrainians arent keen on playing with Russians on a team atm)
- loud music or tv being picked up over the mic, does not only annoy the teammates but also distracts the actual "culprit" from the ingame sounds, makes for a hell of a team mate
and i guess there are even more "Reasons" that make sense to the Player that quits, as @reconzero described in his post

The thing is a system could be in place to clearly catch the people who intentionally drop as soon as they die, or only land and drop to get a daily challenge. This can all be tracked and use to determine if someone should get a ban vs someone who had to run to the door, or take a crap or had a kid crying, cause they are not serial disconnectors.
The issue is the serial disconnectors who instead could simply use the option to not autofill their team and just drop solo and be done with it...
EA/Respawn Could track people who go to the menu and choose leave game / confirm, can confirm people who actually lose connectivity (few people are going to actually disconnect their Inet every game to do this) All of this data is likely metrics they already track, but they simply do not care to actually do something useful to make the game better for the players who want to play.
