The server lag issue seems to be caused by players, because during the day and noon, there's no lag. But late afternoon and night, its impossible to play, and that's when players in my region are most likely to be on, and it wouldn't surprise me if they'e using new types of DDOSing cheats.
- r1ggedgame4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Midnight9746 or it might be due to overbooking the servers. have you ever noticed the weird effect in past seasons that you start out with a 60ms ping at drop and go down to 30ms as you reach around 10th/9th rank ?
- @r1ggedgame In the beginning of Apex, yes. But in recent seasons, no. The ping is constantly changing and likes to skyrocket for no real reason, while only showing lag when it's low ping. It makes no real sense.
From what I'm seeing, it seems like the moment you get near certain players, you start to lag terribly. My guess is that instead of DDOSing the whole server, cheaters are just DDOSing players they're in combat with or simply just close to.
Case in point:
- Game works just fine until you're forced into the final ring closure with the last two enemy teams, where the lag intensifies the more you get pushed towards one of the other teams
- The game stops lagging when you choose to get away from an enemy team you started to lag near, (the radius seems to be 100 meters from the enemy team who might be using a new form of DDOSing)
This is just sad that its being allowed to even happen.
