@Balladalidila Just had another match ruined by a duo team. They stuck to each other like glue.
One died to an actual bot, (it was a Bangalore that was running into walls, with rookie player level of aiming, yet somehow the random still died to them), the other's aim was worse than Bangalore bot's aim.
They spent the match running off from me, sometimes running to where I was looting to take the loot. When I had killed the Bangalore, the random was being respawned, where they instantly looted Bangalore's box and took everything when they had their own box 5 meters away.
Conduit was Gold IV, and Lifeline was Silver II. Conduit was the one who died to a bot player, and while fighting the bot, Lifeline tried reviving Conduit, and didn't even try to help fight Bangalore. When Bangalore shot Conduit dead, Lifeline just grabbed Conduit's banner and ran to the respawn beacon. Since Lifeline didn't want to do anything else, it prompted me to go after the Bangalore.
For a "team base game", these duos sure prioritize each other over the team as a whole. After their clear intentions of being a duo, I just ran off as a solo. Sure, I had died before they did, but I was playing the game and fighting people. They were trying to rat the whole time.
Lifeline at one point ran into a team and instead of fighting, they looked directly up and stopped walking, while Conduit ran off, crafted our banners, and then ran completely into the middle of an open field where 3 squads had direct line of sight on them.
Again... Conduit is in the gold ranks, and Lifeline is in silver. Sure doesn't seem that way to me. Its most likely that the game expects the 3rd to carry duo teams, and so far, they have been getting carried.
This isn't fun at all, and I hope they add duo rank, and when you're a duo team, it doesn't let you que into trios rank.
In short: Duos in pubs trios and in ranked isn't good for the game. Either add ranked duos and restrictions to prevent players from ruining the match for the 3rd player, or add some way that encourages teamwork. Something is better than nothing.
Edited: Second match today, and I was given yet ANOTHER duo as randoms. They only cared about each other. They did fight with me as a team, but it was a Lifeline and a Horizon, and when it came down to using their abilities, it was only for each other.
I also had requested ammo, and both of them ignored me, and I know they ignored me because one of them also requested ammo, and the other one pinged their ammo type right afterwards, after both ran past the type I requested.
