@audiofilomx There's a psychological aspect to this. I would assume this comes straight from EA.
If you implement low-medium powered aimbot, children and people who don't game with keyboard/mouse will feel like they're really good at the game.
Getting people, mainly kids, addicted to your game by giving them easy access endorphins with aimbot, is the same strategy FortNite used.
Apex was built solely as a cashgrab by EA to try to get some of that FortNite money, so its not surprising they copied built-in aimbots.
Now if the developers are smart, they'll see they have a great game on their hands, with lots of potential that's ruined by aim assist. If they're really smart, they'll foster a fair ecosystem for player enjoyment/retention.
But this 'is' EA. They tend to force studios to do horrible greedy things to try to force more money out of their games. Then fire the studios that can't deliver on EA's signature low effort cashgrab concepts.

@4ccbf460f7b926b1 Yeah cause everybody knows that the aim assist idea came from fortnite eh? Aimbot only kicks in at close range. If you're that afraid of controller players, avoid close range combat. If you push be smart about it. A controller player is so easy to melt cause they dont have the movements of a mouse and keyboard player. Both have pros and * but i agree on one point, aim assist is too strong, but if you remove it completely, a controller player doesnt stand a chance against a m/k player.
- 5 years ago@NewfeelinQc I get your point, FortNite didn't invent aim assist. But FortNite was the gold rush for this genre, and everyone tried to get in on the FortNite money.
Now that they're adding cross play, they're at a crossroads. There's so much cheating, recoil scripts, aim assist abuse, console mouse and keyboard aim assist...
My guess is that they fix nothing. But I hope I'm wrong.- 5 years ago@4ccbf460f7b926b1 Yeah i wish there was none of that too but its a problem every shooters have. Its worst for free to play games obviously but yeah i wish they would take more radical actions against that, account ban isn't enough
- 5 years ago@NewfeelinQc How you will know if someone is on a controller? The only way to know is when you are already been beamed by one.
The pros and * argument is very used and bad, aim assist works at midrange too, 90% of the fights on Apex are Close-mid range Combats.
AIming is the primary advantage on ANY FPS, movement and game sense are secondary, just see cheaters(really bad players) destroys pro teams only because they can land every shot, obviously aim assist is not an aimbot but for sure is way too strong (just see my video, tracks people by itself)
Controller the way is tuned up right now in games like Fornite, Apex, Halo and CoD outperform M/K in the most essential thing of ANY FPs "aiming", Snipedown got the kills record on tournaments against the best players in the world, he's good player, he knows the game, but most important he knows how to use Aim assist, at that level of skill, any advantage will be huge, that's why I'm only asking for removing on Ranks and Tourneys.
(And in case that you're saying that only 1% of controller players reach that level you're wrong, every tournament there's more and more full controller players teams, the amount of controller Preds on PC is huge, if M/K is so superior why controller is absorbing all the top 500 on PC?)- 5 years ago@audiofilomx why not just use a controller then? I hate mouse and keyboard. Yes games give aim assit to controllers but look at the pc players and what they can do. Can you set a macro on a controller? Can you straff left and right qhile looting? You loot ten times fast than we do on console, shall I go on? You pc players have so many more advantages than us on console and all you're moaning about is the only slight advantage we have. I stopped playing call of duty and fortnite because of the cross play, it literally ruined the game because I couldnt kill pc players and its going to be the exact same here.
- 5 years ago@Lordstuart12 I don't like to use my controller anymore because I don't want to abuse it, i never used peacekeeper, devotion, because of that, it feels wrong and disgusting, is just not fair, and i don't like to play like that.
But I get your point, that's why i consider aim assist needs to only be removed on ranked games and tournaments, if someone just want to enjoy the game, sure leave aim assist as it is on casual games, but any assist on competitive games should not be allowed, competitive is supposed to be raw skill, introduce aim assist to those scenarios will destroy competition integrity.
For the record, controllers have cronusmax to use macros, but any Macros that helps you in the game is cheating too for both sides.
- 5 years ago@audiofilomx I understand dude but its F2P not everyone is good/ has the time aim assist makes it more inclusive for everyone not just a selective few
- 5 years ago@DaleWWilson95 Sure, not everyone have that time, again, that's why it only needs to be removed or tuned down on ranked and tourneys, those modes are for people that can invest a lot of time in the game

Honestly, they need to either let PC players OPT out of cross play, or disable console player's ability to have bullets that curve around and through objects. 9/10 times I get killed from behind cover, its from a console player, because aim assist is for some reason, that strong.
