Sentinel Nerf

Can anyone explain why the sentinel was nerfed?

The only thing that changed is I can’t break a purple or red shield when I’m in need of breaking a red or purple shield. Which was it’s best feature. How is trading a guaranteed shield break or at least 70 damage for 88 dmg that can be fortify reduced in ANY WAY A BUFF?
