Shadow Royal Feedback

Its fun and all, but once you become a shadow, you're a 1-4 bullet tap to any gun, so you can't even get near anyone, and if you manage to, you'd only get 1 or 2 punches off before they kill you. Being a shadow in a mode where you're meant to be a shadow, is super pointless.

    @BigMacAttack8u Shadows are meant to keep their teammates alive. We cannot do that if we die to just being breathed on.

    This also feels like a bug, and that is when you're knocked, if the shadow players are killed, you instantly die off as the game thinks your squad is "eliminated", even though you can still be revived by a shadow once that shadow had respawned. I have no idea why its seeing 1 knocked player, and 2 respawning shadows, (or two knocked players, and one respawning shadow) as a "squad wipe".

    As far as I understand, your team is still in the fight, as long as at least ONE survivor is still alive. It should not matter if that survivor is knocked or not.

    Edited: This implies that even if you're knocked, you're still in the match, as you're not a shadow.

    @Midnight9746 Your shadow teammates get one chance to save you once you’re downed, that is purposeful to limit a shadows capabilities. Once you get downed, the shadows lose the ability to respawn, as you are technically dead, you can’t do anything. Shadows are meant to be weaker than the living, being a showdown is a safety net for when you die, it’s not a second life, it is not meant to be as good as being alive.
  • @Midnight9746 I was a bit disappointed with how Shadows worked too. I get that Shadows are supposed to be weaker, and that's a good thing - flashback to when Shadows had 100 HP and it was awful - but I didn't like the way the Shadow respawn scaled.

    When you first become a Shadow - earlier in the game - you Respawn super fast and are a menace, as you should be, but later in the game - as you die more as a Shadow - the Respawn times get ridiculously long. Which means when you're facing white armoured, no healing, little ammo to spare players you Respawn relentlessly, but when everyone's in Red and can 2-tap you from Narnia you take 37 seconds to Respawn.

    And then there's the whole making you drop in from the sky in later rings, still with only 50hp, where you just get shot out of the sky and STILL have to wait 30+ seconds to respawn, when you didn't even get to touch the ground.

    I feel like they should cap the Shadow respawn timer much lower, Shadows are supposed to be menaces in this fun game mode, and maybe look at scaling Shadow health with ring closings too, giving more HP later in the game when people have gear and ammo to spare.

    It also didn't make sense that Shadows died to the ring and out-of-bounds, Shadows shouldn't take Ring damage and shouldn't get an OOB timer. They also should regenerate health quickly, not incredibly, incredibly slowly. They've only got 50hp, you can practically one-shot them, they shouldn't be poke-able, and they should have the freedom to approach from any angle.

    I like the damage they do, and it was a TON of fun to play, Horizon ultimate + Shadow wasn't even fair, you could wipe a full squad in red by yourself with the chaos it created! But I feel like the Shadows could definitely be tweaked to be the relentless force they feel like they should be, too often Shadows felt absolutely worthless thanks to the 35 second respawn time and a team that had guns and were setup in a relatively open area.

    Oh, and get rid of the dropping from the sky entirely or make the Shadows invulnerable or something, I can count dozens of games where I could just farm dozens of kills from the poor shadows falling from the sky. That's not remotely fun for anyone.
