Hiya, can you post a clip of this happening please? Would be much easier to see, rather than explain in words.

If not, what do you mean by 'crank'? You mean reload once empty?

If you're referring to the animation your character does when swapping to the EVA from your primary, it 'cranks' or 'cocks; the gun, this is normal whenever you swap & change the attachments, like, if you were to get a shotgun bolt lvl 3 (replacing your lvl 2) but you didn't actually switch to that weapon, when you end up needing it after you've emptied your primary weapon's mag but your target isn't dead, that little 0.5h of second animation is enough to get you dead.

SOLUTION: Whenever you get new attachments, always swap between all your weapons & back to 'no weapon'.

I've died because of this animation so many times so, now, whenever I am on '3' running to a location, I make it a habit to check, double-check, triple-check, (by pressing '1', then '2', then back to '3'), all the time...so for when i am in combat, I do not get the animation.

But if that's what you meant, then the above solution should solve your issues (happened to me using the Havoc as secondary, or the Spitfire).
