Show the teammates' icons on items they might need (images attached)

Whenever we see an item (be it in a death box, loot box, or on the ground), we tend to ping it randomly because we think that item might be suitable for our teammates. However, a lot of times we ping attachments they have no weapon for, ammo they are not using at all, and so on. I personally always ask my teammates if they are looking for something specific so I don't ping things randomly like crazy. I have a VERY simple solution for it that will SIGNIFICANTLY improve the playing experience though: add an icon of our teammate's characters on the items we see (I attached some images I quickly made so you can have a brief idea of how it could be shown - please ignore the design as those images have solely the purpose of showing the idea).

The rules could be something like this:

  • Whenever we ping an item, both teammates will always get the call (exactly as is right now) since they might want an item that doesn't necessarily fit their current loadout so they use it afterward.
  • For ammo, we're gonna see the icon(s) of the teammate(s) who is using that type of ammo.
  • For weapons, we'll see the icon whenever they either don't have any gun or just have one in the slot.
  • For weapon attachments, we'll see the icon(s) when our teammates are either missing attachments on their guns OR they are better than the ones they are currently using.
  • For helmets and body shields, we'll see the icon(s) when our teammates are either missing any of them OR they are better than the ones they are currently wearing.
  • For other items such as shield cell/battery, grenades, syringes, and so on, we will see the icon when our teammates don't have any of those in their backpacks.

As I said, this is just a brief idea. All those rules would need to be stressfully analyzed before being implemented, but I'm sure that they would significantly improve the teamwork experience and, consequently, the overall gaming experience. Also, you can count on me to better establish those rules and visually show the icons in the best way possible as I'm a UX/UI Designer, but I'm sure your talented team could brilliantly find a solution to make that work. 🙂

*******EDITED******

It turns out that there is already an icon (a dummy with its arms up, which can also be seen on the images attached) on the item's window that covers the major aspects of my suggestion. However, the fact that a lot of people don't know its existence or what it is for shows that there is a clear UI/UX issue (maybe the icon could be orange so it stands out and make our eyes quickly notice it). Also, that icon is limited to the loot window (it doesn't appear in items that are inside death boxes, for instance), not to mention it doesn't show on grenades, shield cells/batteries, syringes, medkits, and so on. So, my suggestion could be a complement to that existing solution.

PS: I ended up posting this same thread in the "General Feedback" section without realizing there was a specific one for weapons and looting. Sorry about the duplicated post, but I didn't find an option to delete the other one (when I click on the three dots beside the time the post was made, weirdly there is no option to delete that post specifically).
