For me, I only have time to play Apex Legends occasionally, I’m new to the weapons of the Titanfall universe and to the pace of battle royale games, so I could use some help in becoming more skilled and facing off against better players. Not sure if that’s skill-based matchmaking or a training mode involving bots, but something extra would be very welcome.
Most of my experience thus far has been good. However, when you’re not sure of all the capabilities of the weapons and which ones are better than others in the different combat situations, how to quickly identify pickups you need or can’t use, rapidly manage inventory, and you want to become a better player but aren’t sure exactly what you need to do to make that happen, things can get overwhelming. It can get worse when you’re in a squad with higher level players with a lot more play time that chastise you for not knowing what you don’t know.
I'm fine with SBMM as long as it is ONLY based on win or lose... No stats, no rank.. just win or lose.
It could be a point system, where in bronze you get 250 pts for a win, and lose 15 pts for a loss. Get to 1000 pts and you get to silver.
If it uses stats or rank, it will turn into a toxic mess, because players on a team will have adversarial goals. (You compete with teamates for damage, and you can get higher rank by passively hiding)

At this point there's no reason to make a match making system at all. All the grown * dude that wants to keep stomping kids need to do is throw the game.
Matchmaking NEEDS to be a mix of victories, kills, respawn/revives and consistency.
If you make it all about victories. People will kill 20 players and suicide or leave to stay in kid's league.
