Social Networking In Apex
Me again....
I've always felt that social networking is lackluster in Apex, but after playing Warzone 2 I've realized that the social networking features in this game is terribly flawed.
Warzone has added a "party search" feature and it's nice.
With this feature you can search for a party instead of initiating a match with randoms. Once in a party you can ensure that everyone is mic'd up, and the vibes are good. The party leader can kick players, if needed, and you can back out if the vibes aren't good. When using this feature, it's night and day. When I didn't use it the teamplay experience was horrible, but when I used it, I always played a couple games or more with the same "like-minded" players. Since Apex is a more competitive game then Warzone, it's a no-brainer that this feature needs to be implemented.
Additionally, I've mentioned in a previous post that I'm disappointed with the Clubs feature.
Go to Clubs right now and try to find a decent club to join. Search for a decent club using the search engine. What did you find? Nothing worthwhile. Why display clubs that have no players? We should see clubs that have at least 15 or more players. I used to play a F2P game called 3on3 Basketball made by a South Korean developer. In that game clubs have ratings and compete against each other. As a newbie I could scroll through the top clubs and find an active one to join. I played this game back in 2017 and it's still in the F2P store if you need an example. Clubs in Apex need to be revamped to show active clubs only, seasonal club ranked ratings for BR and Arenas, club leaderboards, etc.
Overall, Apex is a near flawless game with a lot of potential to be better. I would give this game a 9.5/10, but with the lackluster social networking I'll have to give it an 8.5/10. I'm taking a break from multiplayer games in general, but when I come back, I hope these features are revamped including things I've mentioned in my previous posts such as the ping system.
