Solo's
Absolutely love the game guys. Gunplay is fantastic, weapon balance is spot on, love the different characters and their abilities, movement and maps, literally everything about the game...
except...
teamates....
I've put a lot of time into the game recently but I'm seriously starting to go off it because of the forced team element. I don't have any friends who play these games and I really don't enjoy trying to make friends online. During my Battlefield days I joined a clan which resulted in a two week flame war on your forums between myself and the entire clan. Not something I wish to try again.
Here's the problem
The game constantly launches me into duos alone, about half the matches. I find trios twice as frustrating as duos so generally just play alone anyway half of the time.
Teamates quit immediately when they die.
Teamates drop to different locations.
Teamates attack enemies from the worst position possible then insta quit if you haven't followed them on their forlorn hope.
Teamates don't retreat.
Teamates don't look out for third parties.
Teamates scream and swear at you when they die.
Teamates don't revive you.
Teamates quit if you don't hotdrop.
Teamates quit if you hotdrop.
Obviously this isn't always the case and I do get great teamates who play as a team occasionally. These games are great fun and what keeps me going but the overall experience is just very frustrating.
I don't have the skill to compete alone and every solo match results in losing to a team. I'm sure players out there can deal with this but I'm a casual player who plays a few hours a week and just wants to have a bit of fun. I put many hours into Firestorm solo's so I know I would love solo's in this game.
My favourite thing about BR's is the tactical and positional side of the game. Forcing me to play alone against teams or with someone has such a detrimental effect on my ability to control these things that the game is very quickly becoming stale.
