southpaw / left-handers weapon swap ability

On many shooter games one has the ability to switch the weapon from right side or left side. I would like the ability to choose to hold weapon in left hand since I am a lefty and it's how my brain thinks. Are right handers being given an unfair advantage? I don't know but it seems like a simple enough request.
