Stop instant leaving

pls dev´s, stop this game breaking instant leaving mechanic....

it´s so frustrating if a member get knocked down and leave the game instantly...

Or he/she didn´t get his Legend he/she wants and leave the game...

There have to be some penaltys if player leave instant, perhaps 2-5 min ban so they cant go straight into another match so they wont leave anymore so fast.

  • Apex Legends is a type of game you play to let out frustration. Its not a game you care about. It will always be like that for most people with these kinds of games.

    So people just dont care. Apex Legends is a "throw-away" game. Its like a rag-doll, a punching bag, a TV-guide that is thrown across the room, a cloth you wipe the floor with.

    Thats it.

    Players just dont care enough.

    There may be a lot of people playing the game, but that doesnt mean they care about the game.

    I mean who cares about a game where you run around killing people in 2022. Its depressing.

    There are so many other games that are much more positive and mentally healthy.

    And who wants to be a game dev in 2022 making games where you shoot people.

    Look at how Battlefield destroyed devs at DICE over decades developing that war game. They got depressed.

  • @Bronsn Only speaking for myself here, but when I leave a game it's probably one of the following:

    1. I'm convinced someone is cheating (enemy or teammate) and I want no part of that.

    2. It's late game, the match is already lost (yes, I can tell), and I'm doing my squad a favor by not asking them to take the risk involved in a revive or respawn.

    3. It's late game, the match is very likely going to go to my squad, but I get put down and, as before, I don't want them taking the risk. I also get pouty about taking a win I feel I didn't earn.

    As for people quitting if they can't have their main: I'm all for it. We should be picking our legends pre-game, and then having mm match us accordingly. I only play one legend, I'm not interested in any of the others, and I feel like I've put in my time and earned the right to be Pathfinder. That said, I don't quit matches if somebody takes him before I get him. I play as if I don't give a rat's backside, but I don't quit.

    You want quit penalties in ranked? By all means. But in unranked trios and duos? In casual game modes in a free-to-play game? That I'm just not seeing.
  • @BronsnI used to wish people didn't leave, but I keep getting terrible teammates, toxic teammates, teammates who run off into narnia and cost us the match, so I'm starting to leave matches that become painfully obviouse that its pointless.

  • @Bronsn  A lot of players (myself included) became like this because they are sick and tired of getting destroyed all the time. It's the developers who have created this problem: a crappy matchmaking system causing players to be very frustrated and refusing to spend one extra second in a pointless lobby.

    Teammates are less likely to leave in ranked matches. It's no guarantee of having a better experience though.

    @Solim66 This...I rage quit in pubs when I turn a corner and get melted almost instantly or when I lose a 1v1 to someone who doesn't miss a shot even though I'm moving around like I'm on crack.

    @HappyHourSumwur When those Rampage shots seem to curve corners or ignores walls due to terrible servers, and high ping players, (who are typically on console), Yeah... that would do it.

    I'm seeing a lot of players have zero recoil with guns like the R-99, Prowler, etc.

    When I say "zero", I mean its not even bobbing at all, its a stable line. They're not even showing signs of countering the recoil either, because that still has noticeable recoil. They're just shooting in a strightline, like its a Charge Riffle.

    It also seems like people are shooting guns faster as well. All these issues are an incentive to just leave matches, sadly.

    I used to think leaving early was pointless - now I'm at the point where I wanna play the game, get kills, not get shoved onto a noob team, and get smoked by a TTV, pred, or some smurph/cheater player. That's not "fun". That's annoying.

    I plan on leaving any and all matches where:

    - I get knocked in a BS way (by a no-recoiler, aimbotter, strikepacker)
    - I get console teammate and their PC friend
    - I get noob teammates
    - I get rude teammates

    I don't care about penalty anymore. If they don't wanna fix matchmaking, and bring back the fun, then who cares if more starts leaving early.

    I just left 5 pub matches due to getting noob teammates, ended up with teammates who knew how to play, and ended up actually winning. If that's not an incentive to leave early, I don't know what is.

  • I used to hate leaving, but now I support it. Here are some reasons why I will leave (which may share some similarities to other's reasons above):

    • My other two teammates relinquish jumpmaster (me being third in line). This means neither of my teammates are confident (or paying attention) to play the game. We will lose;
    • My teammates land us in an absolutely ridiculous spot on drop - In the middle of a field / on hammond / waterfall at olympus / on a POI with literally 10 teams dropping on it (hot dropping);
    • If both my teammates go down within 10 seconds of landing;
    • If both my teammates lose a 1 v 1 and I have to 1 v 3 and I'm not full health / ready to fight;
    • If I get bricked up by a player or team in the immediate vicinity of my teammate to which I am returning to heal (ostensibly to a "safe" place). Because my teammate clearly had no idea enemies were in the area, or did not communicate it to me, and is just a clueless player.
    • If my teammates don't know how to push / are backing up / hiding - they clearly don't recognize an advantage;
    • My teammates are so bad that my skill can't compensate for their lack of skill - they die in seconds in every fight and aren't any threat;
    • The map turns to Stormpoint and I didn't realize it;
    • If me and another teammate were got knocked and the other teammate is not even in the vicinity of the fight;
    • If my teammate has an especially controversial name (like HitlerWasRight, or SlapThatCu**, or something like that). I just don't want to play with people like that;
    • If my baby starts crying mid-game, she was sleeping and I thought I had time to play, but suddenly I don't anymore (it's just pubs, life goes on);
    • If somebody rings the doorbell to my house, wanting something;
    • If I get an important phone call;
    • If I am lagging so bad that the game is unplayable for me;
    • If I keep dying and I realize I am a liability to the team, rather than a help;

    Reasons I don't leave:

    • If I can see my teammates are actively trying to do their best to play, no matter if we are getting starched;
    • If someone picks the character I want to play (nobody "earned the right" to permanently play any character. If anything your high kill count on the character indicates you should be playing another character so you can be more well-rounded);
    • If I am winning or absolutely roasting people;

    Hmm... seems like there's a lot more reasons to leave than to stay actually...

    OK so you have to leave in 80% of all games 😉
