Storm moving way too quicly in final circles

The point of the storm is to close the map and prevent squads from camping in it as the game progresses. I agree it should deal significant damage in those final circles but moving at the speed it does makes no sense.  The teams who make it to the later circles deserve to fight it out but way too often the storm will wipe squads and that is not it's intended purpose.

  • @YTCephalonNoob the final storms are the slowest moving storm in the game what are you talking about and they also only move like 20 feet forward which is completely balanced making it easier to change your position if you're out of the circle when circle closes. I feel the first circle should do more damage because when it's far away from players (400-800m) away players such as myself tend to loot up then run a marathon to die to third parties.
  • you can outrun the first storm but there's no way to outrun the final circles. In other battle royales for example fortnite the circle  moves slower as the game progresses which I believe is a reason fortnite has a better competitive scene than apex legends, more time in those final circles. There's been many times when my team is unable to rotate to circle because of having to eliminate a third party first and just as we're outrunning storm it passes by us and in those later circles usually kills at least a member of the team.

  • @YTCephalonNoob The moving speed is purposely done this way. Teams need to advance to safe areas out of the ring quicker. Its not the ring that is the issue its players sticking back and being caught in it instead of positioning.
  • yes but more than likely another team will push you and you will get third partied after that, it's not always possible to have good positioning in battle royales and the storm is already punishing you by forcing you to rotate into enemies already set up to shoot you, other players should be killing you in those final circles not storm...

@YTCephalonNoob That is why strategy exists. You see the ring is head towards a section of the map nothing is stopping a team from rotating to that safe area they can pre determine by opening the map. If teams choose to stay back to hide or to try to farm kills thats just the risk you take. Its either know you can be safe or risk being safe.
  • @YTCephalonNoob It depends on where you are when outside of the ring, if you are really far away the ring will close super fast but if you are close to the next ring location it has a pretty slow and gradual speed so you just need to pay attention to the ring and start rotating early

yeah I know this, I've played thousands of games in fortnite and I know how the ring works exactly which is why It's difficult to deal with it in apex. There's a lot of people who have issues with the ring system in this game, not just me, kind of bumming me out because I'm starting to like apex and I'm finding a lot of issues the community has are ignored by the developers.

  • @YTCephalonNoob The ring is not a normal complaint. Most who play it are used to it despite fortnite or cod speed rings they have. Its something we know what it does when it will do it and when we should move. That is why you wont see many complaints about the ring speed or damage. Its quite balanced.

@YTCephalonNoob I think they added Heat Shields to help with this issue, I have still had a few occasions late game where we were midfight and the ring came and we ended up dying in the storm but I had a few times the heat shields saved us but I also had a game where I didn’t place the shields smartly and died lol when if I placed them correctly we could of survived
