I know what you're saying. And I get the frustration. But I feel like your solution is just as bad in its way as the fixed drops. It's an attempt to force players into one particular method of play in a game that is complex enough to allow for a wide range of approaches. I hate to say it but what we need is either play style-based matchmaking, or separate rank ladders for solo queue players and stacks, or ranked deathmatch. Or possibly all three.
But in the battle royale game type there is room for being methodical, holding back, waiting and watching, biding your time. It's okay if you're not that player. If you have the mechanical skills to just run and gun until you hit master. But there are players who play very circumspectly and some of them are not doing it that way just because they think they'll get higher on the ladder that way. It's just how they play.
One point of curiosity: You said, "team lands monument," but you didn't say whether one of them was jump master, or if YOU were jump master. Because in the scenario you described I might be harder on the "ratters" if one of them was jump master. If, on the other hand, it was you that chose a **bleep** drop, leaving your squadmates limited options to avoid early death and rp loss, then that's kinda on you. Count yourself lucky they didn't break off and drop somewhere else?
If that's the case then this game sucks, it's not an FPS game about skill but a sit on your arse and hope to win... Weird you all play an FPS game just to run away and be a coward when you have a perfectly healthy team... I didnt pick that crap spot to land but I stuck it out and held my freaking own!!! I understand playing reserve but there's a time and place for it and doing it all the time in a fps game to hit the top isnt how it should be whatsoever! you say its worse than the drop ships? Weird it's a FPS and people don't want to shoot, I'm done with this game 28 seasons later and it didn't get any better! if anything it got worse the randoms are God awful! Have fun sitting on your buns because I'm done 👍

It's weird to me that if the only thing you value in this game is mechanical skill that you're not then playing team deathmatch. Or Valorant. Or Counterstrike. Or name any other arena shooter. Why play a game that actually involves strategy if strategizing doesn't interest you? Look, I'm not trying to say that ratting is a strategy that will or should get anyone to master. It shouldn't. It won't. But you have to admit that there's a middle ground between hiding your way to final three on the one hand and on the other trying to shoot your way through 19 enemy squads.
That said, you have every right to be frustrated if one of them chose the hot drop and then they both hid in a building. Were they on comms? Did they tell you that was their plan? Did they ping their hidey hole? I mean, I know hiding is not your play style, but if they made it clear that's what they were doing and you chose to cowboy up and go it alone... then I'm not really sure what to say. Except, again, THIS GAME NEEDS PLAYSTYLE-BASED MATCHMAKING.
