I was happy with 2 free boxes from event and considering I've unboxed a bunch of free legendary skins just from leveling up it didn't matter what I got.
I'm happy playing the game for free and have made the choice to support the game. I bought battle pass, and I am more than willing to throw a little cash for the Iron Crown event boxes.
Thank you for an awesome FTP game, and anyone who actually thinks this qualifies are predatory sales tactics are wrong. How people cannot grasp that you are paying for an RNG roll is beyond me.
Cosmetics don't help you win, you may feel a little more confident in your new skin but that's it. There is no pay to win, no predatory tactics. If you don't feel a RNG roll for one of the possible items is worth 700 Apex coins then don't buy it. It's that simple, but somehow that gets twisted into predatory tactics...many people failing at logic these days.
What a useless thread. You're complaining about cosmetics, that you chose to buy. These items have no effect on gameplay what so ever, nor do they give another player any type of advantage. Generation of wha wha wha, boo hoo hoo. The game is FREE you don't have to spend a dime to enjoy the actual game. It's your own choice to spend your money to look different. Get over yourself.
You willingly bought packs knowing it was a gamble then call it predatory monetization. Your logic is pretty far off.
Now, I'm off to enjoy the awesome game EA created. Ill be rocking my snake skin on octane that I got for free. Happy hunting legends.

@voltageblue8 registered 5 hours ago, makes points about logic.... here is a logic you are wasting your time trying to troll this IT WILL NOT HAPPEN
F2p is an illusion here, players support f2p in any way they can they have built entire companies that gave VALUE to their customers and their money.
Placing skins in any game behind a paywall this high is provocation, every gamer wants to support/own stuff in game he likes and this is just disgusting abuse of that

"Registered 5 hours ago, makes points about logic...."
What does anything about what I said have to do with how long ago I registered. Your point here is mute.
"Here is a logic you are wasting your time trying to troll this IT WILL NOT HAPPEN

This is a ftp shooter with no way to pay your way to any advantage except looking different than someone else. So youre obviously delusional. Your point here is mute.
"players support f2p in any way they can they have built entire companies that gave VALUE to their customers and their money"
EA is already an established company and does not need your funds to keep running. You did not help build this game in any way you merely spent money on cosmetics. Your point here is mute.
You're never going to get exactly what you want in life, you learn that at a early age in school. Move along now.
- 6 years ago@voltageblue8 You make some good points however I feel as though what myself and many others here are questioning isn't necessarily the actual cost of the recent event content but rather the reasoning behind said cost. Even after the dev's responses no clear answer was given. People are more than welcome to buy the content, sure. But at least prove to the consumer the prices are worth what you pay for.
Now I know after reading your previous comment that you criticise this very thread's existence, but when I created it I only meant for it to be a place where people can discuss in a respectable manner how they feel about being "expected" to pay the prices we've been presented with by Respawn.
To discuss whether or not this is really the devs being greedy at the coercion of EA or if it really is value for money.
You have to admit, around $200 is questionable in of itself. Especially when the majority of the cosmetics are barely seen by the player outside of the game's menu.
As you rightly say though, there are a lot of silly people crying and complaining over what is going on but the devs are never gonna react in a positive way to a thread of vulgar language, verbal abuse and death threats.
(Clearly evident at this point.)
However, not long after making this very thread I began encouraging players to criticise things in a more respectable manner and I got a response from EA stating that they appreciate the modicum of civility here as, and quote, "That tone really helps to get your point across, and helps the tone of the forum overall.
So I respect where you're coming from with the points you've raised but I do feel there is good reason to at least question where this game is going. Or a the very least help people be more aware of possible shady business practises that may be going on.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one still enjoying the game too. *thumbs up*

Are you serious?!
Simple example:
You want to buy a car.
But you are told, that you can only buy the car in the next two weeks only and only if you take the whole package, biggest machine, biggest wheels etc even though, you wanted a smaller package.
After that period of 2 weeks, you will never ever be able to buy the car anymore.
But you want that car so much, that you are willed to spend extra cash, in order to get your dream model.
You buy it.
Three days later, the car sellers offers your car, the smaller version you wanted before, to everyone else, for a much smaller price.
You think this is fair? How would you feel?
It is just an example, to understand, why people are upset.- 6 years ago
@JjumpingJjack the prices are absurd overall and people are raging all over it, its not the first or the last time they gonna pull this off what i have a problem with is that GAMERS are allowing this to happen. Price of computer that average gamer owns is around the value of god damn COLORED RED skins in this game.
- 6 years ago@JjumpingJjack Wrong. Bad example. Gamers bought packages that could possibly contain an item, not guaranteed. There is still a possibility those gamers wouldn't of obtained that item.
Gamers spent insane amounts of money till they finally got what they wanted, and now want all there money back because people who didn't drop hundreds can now get it cheaper. No, they shouldn't get a refund, it was a gamble, plain and simple.
I see where you're coming from and you make a good point, however, it doesn't apply here.- 6 years ago

But my intention with the previous post was to clear out the seller's position only and that such behaviour is simply not fair.
So I can understand the frustration of some players.
I do not feel sorry for them, it's their money. I do not care what they buy or not.
If they want to waste so much cash on simple skins, they should go gor it.
