The Longbow DMR is unbalanced, and not in a good way.
Lets use a Pro's vs Con's methodology.
Pro's:
High dmg
.
.
.
.
.
Con's
Low clip size.
Bullet speed is appallingly slow for a DMR.
Next to no consistent accuracy in hip fire mode.
Slow fire rate.
No distance indicator like the kraber.
Only hit one target at a time.
With Designated Marksman Rifles (DMR) they are designed to fill the middle man between snipers and infantry.
The fire rate and bullet speed is so slow that the enemy can easily take cover before the next shot is taken.
With some stats taken online, the running speed of anyone with a weapon is 6.2m/s.
The fire rate of the DMR is around 1.5./s.
6.2 * 2 = 3.1 + 6.2 = 9.3m
9.3 meters in game is travelled before the next shot and not accounting for the slow bullet speed.
As a refrence used with the kraber, this is 10m in game:
The only time this particular weapon is good is if the enemy is:
- In a open field,
- 20+ meters away from the nearest cover,(and do not miss or it will give the enemy an extra 10 meters)
- has no armor,
- You have the time to calculate the bullet fall off,
- You have the time to calculate the bullet speed delay.
I feel this is a lot of requirements for one weapon to have and needs to be looked at.
