If it doesn’t say “hold **action button** to revive” then you’re gonna performed an execute.
It’s just like the OP and his door issue.
It’s tap **action button** to open a door. Hold to execute.
Actually to complete revive you do have to hold it. Releasing just cancels it out...

@RecklessKaos yes, again - as stated above - you need to pay attention to the prompt on the screen. It’s contextual.

@xerosum you're response to me to pay attention to prompt regarding revive is not relevant, fully read my reply again and know how the game actually functions. I agree with "pay attention to prompts" in regards to the doors portion. But just tapping button for revive does nothing. You have to hold it down! Therefore if you're someone who actually revives teammates (main Lifeline...) you will hold the button down when you go to revive them. So it's very easy for my scenario to occur. Not sure what your experience is or how often you revive teammates, but anyone that does on frequent basis will know this and likely performs revives the same way.
- 7 years agoMaybe they could increase the hold time required to trigger finisher and add a small progress ring indicator so you clearly recognize it's initiating. Maybe a 2 second charge and ring fills up on screen.
- 7 years agoOr... you could make sure that the prompt says revive.... what did you think I meant by “If it doesn’t say “hold **action button** to revive” then you’re gonna performed an execute.”
That IS the prompt. Please pay attention.
