"I've not seen any negative comments about 3 strikes mode..."
Then allow me to be the first. Just "played" my first three matches in 3 Strikes. First match loaded up with only one other teammate. Teammate hot dropped, got vaporized, and quit. Then I quit. Second match loaded up with only one other teammate. Teammate hot dropped, got vaporized, and quit. Then I quit. Third match loaded up with TWO teammates. Promising, or so I thought. Jump Master chose a drop that looked like it might not be a dumpster fire. Only one other squad followed us in. That squad instantly vaporized both of my teammates. At that point I'm wondering why I would continue playing when I could just quit and re-queue. Which is what I did. In regular BR.
So in that farce of a game type people behave even worse than they do in normal BR - including myself - so bad that I never even got a chance to see what it looks like when you use a strike. Or get a strike. Or get struck out or whatever it is. People just run for the door.
And the three strike mechanic, as far as I can see, is there to allow the same handful of high-calibre three stacks to keep killing the same mediocre players over and over AND OVER again. Is a 20 kill even relevant anymore in a game type where 57 players can be killed three times each in a single match? This whole thing seems to me like a gift for the streamers. I can't understand why everyone ("everyone?") is so excited by this. - reconzero2 years agoSeasoned Ace@DaleFox2012
And come to think of it:
This is the only thread I've seen in the entire forum where anyone has even mentioned 3 strikes. I've seen a little internet buzz over it, but it strikes me as the kind of buzz you buy, not the kind that self-generates. - DankToliet2 years agoSeasoned Ace@Asmodeus566 sorry I wasn't taking a jab at you. I was just pointing out the non-counter argument I've seen for years. Not specifically to you, my bad.
So pretty much everything you just mentioned there is an issue with people leaving and not getting team mates which happens all the time on modes, just because its another mode doesn't make it immune to this happening. You also mentioned losing your fights, again nothing to do with the game mode.
I'm part of many apex groups and they've all said its very fun and keeps them playing. You're right though, you're the first negative one I've seen. I've also had no issues at all with getting no team mates and mostly they're balanced so you must be extremely unlucky. Also, the team mates I get also agree they love the mode.
Whether or not you were taking a jab at me I thought that that was haliarious.
Either way it was done in good taste.
However I am glad that you wernt.
No hard feelings and the thread is great.
Wishing you a few extra GG`s

@DaleFox2012
The commentary about incomplete squads and losing fights is, yes, no different than any other game mode in Apex. But again, someone please explain to me why I would want to get wiped by superior players and then give them two more chances to do the exact same thing. In the exact same match? Once put down and out of the match, why would a player want to come back for more abuse at the hands of the people he's already proven he can't beat? Why would he not re-queue and hope for better matchmaking???And I'm not saying at all that I'd like to see the mode ended. By all means, let's keep it for those who enjoy it. Just not sure who those people are. As I said, this is the only thread I can find on the entire forum that addresses the game mode, positive or negative.

@reconzeroThree strikes gives you a few good things. Firstly, it offers you chances at revenge. In Battlefield, I actually enjoyed hunting down that guy that just killed me 3 times in a row. BR robs you of that and leaves you feeling horrible when you get obliterated. In Three Strikes, at least you can vent that rage. Secondly, it ensures a ridiculous end game every time. We know that Respawn things that hectic end games are the "ultimate Apex experience" so this fits right in. I don't agree with them, but they've made no bones about it with how they've approached Ranked.
On the downside, it just exaggerates how horrible the matchmaking is. Instead of getting destroyed by a 3 stack in milliseconds once, now you have the joy of that 3 times in one match. The current meta of revive legends (LL, NC, Mirage) also turns a lot of the fights into a "res off" where everybody just revives teammates with no regard for anything else. While hectic, that can be annoying after a while.
All said, I think it is more good than bad. - reconzero2 years agoSeasoned Ace@HappyHourSumwur

I love that you love this. I despise the entire idea. Once somebody puts me down then I can't get away from that fast enough. Away from that player, away from the match, sometimes even from the game for the rest of the night. Funny how people can look at the exact same thing and see it in completely different ways. - @FOXGODMusic nothing is permanent, they make something fun and nice.... and then remove it ;d there was mode with trains 😞

@TyldaaThe train event is specifically tied to a holiday. It comes around every Christmas, so it is not a permanent game mode because of that reason.
