Toggle for Voice Chat (and voice chat improvements)

I believe a voice chat system overhaul is long overdue, especially since the success the game has been having. If EA wants to double their revenue as they're set to do right now, then they need to up their game as well, as skin recolors and gambling packs just won't cut it for the long run.
It would be good for a game in which teamwork and communication is so important if we had a much better bitrate and QOL features like sliders that would allow us to control the volume for our teammates.

But what could be really easy to implement right now is a button to Toggle between the two already existing states, so as to mute and unmute yourself.
For everytime I have to cough or something, I have to press Esc, and swap between Open mic and Push to talk, and then back, and close the menu. This happens everytime I have to mute, and I don't see a quick option for muting yourself. So please, at least add a Mute/Unmute button.

That, and the default volume level for all players is REALLY low. I had to raise the mic volume in the Windows Settings, because the maximum you have in the game settings just wasn't enough, people were complaining it was still quiet. Playing with others now, whenever someone talks I often have to tell them they're way too quiet. So that would be another easy fix, thank you.

  • @AcidSeth I completely agree with this. It super frustrating to have to hold a button when you are in the middle of a fight which is normally when people need to use it. The only other option is to use open mic which just has so many obvious disadvantages. I really don't undesrtand why we even have to ask for this to be a thing. I feel like with any BR / FPS Shooter this should be an option by default.

Please EA! Add a toggle mute option ! I BEG!
  • This issue still hasn't been solved, and it's mind boggling to me seeing it would probably take 10 minutes for them, as you can already swap between Push to Talk and Open Mic but you have to do it manually as of now.
Just add a keybind for this feature, please.

  • @AcidSeth yeah it's pretty bad different consoles avoid playing as friends as audio chat across platforms is too bad/low volume.
